When you were all I had for sure...

...even when I had much more, even with my pockets weighted, there was just you and me, David.

Inchworm, inchworm, measuring the never-ending parade of ongoing projects, keeping me from losing track of what I'm doing and dissolving into a weeping pile of insecurities and confusion. Hooray! It's been a while since I've done one of these posts, and I really needed one; I don't keep track of things well without them.

Again, to clarify some recent confusion: some things, especially novel-length things, may appear more than once, on both the "publication date" and "being written" lists. This is because the "being written" list is an aggregate, which also includes "no fixed deadline" (IE, being written on spec or for the website) and "unsold" (IE, being written because I can). So new books will appear there for a long time before they vanish, since books take a long time to write, but may also have pub dates listed higher up.

In the case of stories listed with a publication note of "website," these are approximate dates only, and should not be viewed as binding. If the story does not appear on that date, it has been delayed, and will be posted when I can.

Look at that list. It's so shiny!
...but I know you're with me, wherever your heart may be.

Look at that list. It's so shiny!

Look at that list. It's so shiny!

"White as a Raven's Wing"
"Turn the Year Around"
"Under the Sea of Stars"
"Decay"
"Fiber"
"Carry Me Home"
"Pixie Season"
"These Antique Fables"
"All the Pretty Little Horses"
Echo
Chaos Choreography
Chimera

Again, to clarify some recent confusion: some things, especially novel-length things, may appear more than once, on both the "publication date" and "being written" lists. This is because the "being written" list is an aggregate, which also includes "no fixed deadline" (IE, being written on spec or for the website) and "unsold" (IE, being written because I can). So new books will appear there for a long time before they vanish, since books take a long time to write, but may also have pub dates listed higher up.

Look at that list. It's so shiny!
...there isn't any other stair quite like it.

This is the shape of my 2014, with travel dates and everything. Beautiful travel dates. Hope to see you in the months to come! Things are changing and shifting quickly now, but I am keeping my wits about me, and soon we will have solid ground.

Still Catch the Tide

Again, to clarify some recent confusion: some things, especially novel-length things, may appear more than once, on both the "publication date" and "being written" lists. This is because the "being written" list is an aggregate, which also includes "no fixed deadline" (IE, being written on spec or for the website) and "unsold" (IE, being written because I can). So new books will appear there for a long time before they vanish, since books take a long time to write, but may also have pub dates listed higher up.

Look at that list. It's so shiny!
...bet you think that everything good is gone.

This is the remaining shape of my 2013, with travel dates and everything. Beautiful travel dates. Hope to see you sometime in the months to come. The bulk of the list is now 2014, as we are sailing blithely on into its bright and unknown harbors.

You may notice that a few things have moved around on the lists. This is because I am trying to organize them a little more "top down" when they relate to things that don't have attached dates. Also, because there has been some confusion: some things, especially novel-length things, may appear more than once, in the "publication date" and "being written" lists. There are a few things not on the list because they don't have titles yet, and they're not really stories for me until they acquire titles (even if those titles wind up changing seventeen times during the writing/editing process). There's at least one surprise coming that was never on the list at all, because that is the nature of lists: something always gets left off. Still, for the first time in months, the list actually got shorter, and that's awesome.

...says "this ain't what I'd call living."

This is the current shape of my 2013, with travel dates and everything. Beautiful travel dates. Hope to see you sometime in the months to come. 2014 is also beginning to appear, because let's face it, July 2014 is closer to "now" than January 2013. And other horrifying thoughts. (Most horrifying of all, the first 2015 date has appeared. Gleep.)

Look at that list. It's so shiny!

There's at least one surprise coming that was never on the list at all, because that is the nature of lists: something always gets left off. But just this once, the "being written" column got shorter, and I am choosing to take that as the blessing that it is.

We take our blessings where we can.
