Cat pictures, take four.

So I have once again managed to go several months without giving everybody access to the best accessory any blogger can have: pictures of their cats. Cats are adorable. Cats are sweet (as long as you don't have to be in a room with them). And best of all, my cats are Siamese, which everybody knows is an awesome breed. BECAUSE I SAY SO.

So anyway, here are my cats.

So for those of you who are new here, I currently have two cats. The younger, dominant cat is Lilly, short for Lillian Kane Moscowitz Munster Cavanaugh Sawyer McGuire. Lilly is a purebred bluepoint Classic Siamese, and has recently turned four years old. Siamese often live into their twenties, so I'm going to be stuck with this particular kitty for a long time to come.

This, right here, is why I avoid clothes that require folding, or have a more than normal tendency to collect cat hair. We think Lilly may have been a groundhog or other burrowing mammal in a previous life. It's really the only way to explain her behavior when there's something to root in.

Anyone who has ever lived with a Siamese will tell you that they like to 'help' their owners. Lilly likes to 'help' me make the bed. This often leads to odd lumps in the covers making it very difficult for the chore to get finished.

But oh, behold the innocence when she emerges!

I travel a lot, for conventions, to visit friends, and for work. Lilly has figured out that whatever is in the suitcase gets to be where I am. The fact that she hates the car and would hate planes even more is purely academic.

Remember when I mentioned the pumpkin-fucker orange cat tree, and people were dubious that it could really be that orange? Well, look upon my pumpkin-fucker cat tree, o ye mighty, and despair. The cats really love it, too.

Lilly loves it so much she's decided to be a Halloween cat, to match the decor!

Oh, dear! What's this? Tyrannosaurus Rex, apex predator from a bygone era, has invaded the safe haven of my bedroom!

Run, Lilly, run!

OH NOES!!!!!

...or maybe she just doesn't care. Unflappable cat is not perturbed by my petty saurian antics.

After a fierce dino battle, Lilly likes to sleep in the sun.

I just really like this picture. Lilly really is a gorgeous cat, and it doesn't show often enough in photographs.

And now, Nyssa, my speckled mudslide kitty, being aged and elegant on the camouflage pillow. Nyssa likes the camo pillow. Personally, I think this is because she's totally invisible when she's on it.

Sometimes I'm not sure she still has bones.

Unlike Lilly, Nyssa actually uses the little house that comes with the cat tree, thus enrobing herself in orange.

And that's all for today.

aaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwww
Btw, Miss Kitty loves jumping into clothing drawers! I think it's a cat thing. I shut her in my chest of drawers I don't know how many times when she was a baby.

yay kitty pics! thanks, I needed that kind of cute today (and my critters just didn't seem to want to provide it, stubborn little gits)
Silly kitties, not providing the service we tolerate their presence for.
Awesome cat loveliness. My guy is jealous of my love of your cat pictures.
Poor buddy!
D'awwwww!

Ginee, may she RIP, used to paw my drawers open so she could root in among the clothes. I will miss that cat until the day I die. I wish she had made it to 18 or 20. *sigh*

Currently, we have no clothes-rooting kitties. The closest we have is Kisuke, who loves to root in the comforters. This often results in odd squeaking noises when we lay down atop a pile of comforters only to discover that OH! Hey! There's a cat in there. Oops. :D
Lilly will root in anything. Yes, including the covers. Silly rooting kitties are deeply silly.

We never get over our babies. I call Lilly 'Leela' sometimes, by mistake.

That cat tree is THE SHIT. That is SO cool. Glee!

I am still madly in love with Nyssa, awww! Lilly is so gorgeous, though. Just beautiful.
Nyssa has started having trouble breathing, but she's hanging in there with all claws extended.
CAT TREE! I am madly in love with anything so orange that it automatically makes a picture look photoshopped. <3 <3 <3
It is ORANGE LIKE WHOA.
Ah Siamese cats, completely unimpressed by dinosaurs.
*Misses her Yum-yum*
Siamese cats are unimpressed by most things, really.
You have *adorable* kitties.
Wanna scritch 'em :)
They would appreciate that, really.

Eeeeeeeee kitties! Also, wow, cat tree. I totally believed you, but to see it - wow.

Nyssa is so lovely curled up in it.

Yay for burrowing-type cats (I guess Rexes and Rex-mutts do the same thing). Except, y'know, at 2 AM when I just want to sleep dammit Winston go sleep on the chair like a normal cat.

Your fuzzy babies are adorable.
Sphinx cats are also big burrowers, largely because they don't have any fur. (The more time I spend at Borderlands with the freaky suede demon alien kittyfaces, the more I begin to reconsider my desire not to own one. They're sweet.)
Sooooo lovely! And I adore how Lilly's eyes glow like little demonic inferno lamps, or molten lava.
Blue eyes are more reflective than the norm -- hence the luminous quality of Siamese cat eyes when photographed. Lilly is just lucky. She fluoresces orange.
Lily has hot orange eyes. She has ingested Halloween. Have you seen your candy corn lights lately? I think they may be in the cat.

I love the sheet picture. Nyssa has no bones, she is paper mache and mice.
Lilly has definitely ingested Halloween. The candy corn lights are hanging around my desk, but they aren't on -- one of the lights has shorted out, so the whole string is currently dead. :(

I find your description of Nyssa strangely accurate.
So pretty! Want to give kitty loves and spoil them both completely rotten.
They are plenty spoiled already, promise. (Says the woman doing her typing from beneath a Siamese.)

Your kitties are adorable. Remind me to post pics of my little ones sometime.

And we have the same pumpkin-covered Target throw as you do!
I looooooooooooooove Target at Halloween. I just wish I'd had more room in my suitcase this year, since I was in Alabama for the Feast of St. Markdown's, and couldn't rampage through the discounts like I normally do.
Sweet! Lilly is really a beauty. Purrfect.
She's a good girl, that's for sure.
Aww, how cute. I just got a second cat and Saxon is not adjusting to his new sister well. Saxon is a 6 year old burmese and Lily (yes! short for Lilith) is only 10 weeks old (also a burmese).
It can take a while, but I'm sure they'll sort it out. Oriental cat breeds tend to be territorial while sorting out dominance.
Awwwwwww. *Sends hugs to you & scritches to the two felines*
Lilly also likes hugs.
I love the second "sleeping in the sun" picture... :D
Thank you!
Beautiful babies. Thanks so much for sharing pics! My two guys are spoiled rotten, too. Neither burrows, but Ghenghis is a relentless snuggler and Santiago loves to nest in clothes or on bedding. Santiago can be seen in my userpic, maiming a stuffed toy I made for him.
All good cats should be spoiled. It's in the rules.

Santiago is lovely!
Yay, kitties! Tori (Victoria Schroedinger) likes to hang out between the basement ceiling and the main level floor (hence the middle name), and generally only begs for attention while you are a Captive Audience (which is to say, on the can). Tommy the Cat is such an attention whore, he loves both the large dog AND the smallest resident human, as both will pay attention to him. While Tommy likes to sleep ON the clean laundry, he doesn't burrow. Of course, he's so fat, it would be easy to tell where he was :-P
Awwwwwwwww.
