ROSEMARY AND RUE, coming soon to a bookstore near you...

I am pleased* to announce that the release date for Rosemary and Rue, the first of the October Daye books, has been officially confirmed and announced as September 2009. Yes. Nine months from now. On store shelves. Actual store shelves, not just shelves on the bookstore inside my head (they have very affectionate store cats).

Watch this space for news, updates, contests, giveaways, and hyperventilation. But for right now, I resort to the obvious:

HOLY SHIT OH MY GOD SEPTEMBER 2009 THAT'S LIKE PRACTICALLY TOMORROW THAT MEANS I'LL HAVE BOOKS AT OVFF AND WORLD FANTASY AND OH MY GOD AND I CAN'T BREATHE AND MADE OF WIN AND DINO DANCE PARTY TIME FOR EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, that depends -- are you a reviewer? If not, it's hard to say. I'll probably have some giveaways and contests as we get close to the release date, but any advance copies I get will need to go to review sites first.

Rosemary and Rue is the first of the October Daye books, a fairy tale noir urban fantasy adventure set in modern-day San Francisco. October 'Toby' Daye is our cranky changeling protagonist, who really just wants a cup of coffee and a nap.

I'm with Toby, only I'll take tea instead of coffee. I was only joking about the advance copy. I love a good urban fantasy so I'm definitely looking forward to this. May your cover art be nice and may you have a say in its choosing.

My cover art is gorgeous. I've seen it -- I'm just not allowed to share it yet. I got Christian McGrath, who does the Jim Butcher books, and he couldn't be more perfect for me. Seriously.

Published, signed for the entire trilogy, and you love the cover art. What's next, a movie adaptation that rakes in millions? ;)

We're reasonably sure I've sold my soul. I'm reasonably sure that it was worth it.
