In the end, we always return to the sea.

Finally, I am at liberty to reveal a secret I have been keeping and gnawing on for far too long (and which was, in its own way, the reason the current projects posts had to be put on unannounced hiatus):

The Atargatis was lost with all hands. It's time to go back out to sea.

Into the Drowning Deep is a full-length follow-up to my novella, "Rolling in the Deep." Set seven years later, it follows the crew of the Melusine as they set out to discover, once and for all, what really happened when the sea was filled with light and the wind offered no safety.

I am so excited.

I am excited for a lot of reasons. Mermaids; science; murder. The best things in life.

Into the Drowning Deep will be released in November 2017, and can be pre-ordered now from a major retailer or independent bookseller near you.

Looking forward to returning to the Deep!
Everything's gonna get so wet.
Looking forward to it!
Yay!
I had never heard of the novella until the announcement for the sequel, and now I have read it and it was creepy.
Yay!
Hot damn.
<3
Oh my goodness.

I can't wait to get my hands on that book!
Yay!
This is very exciting and makes me want to reread the novella :) missed out on buying it so hurrah for interlibrary loans and the State Library of Western Australia buying 12 copies :D
Hooray!
Oooh, very cool!!
Thank you!
My mother has a wonderful illustrated set of books of folktakes , and the one for Melusine has some of my favorite artwork, and was one of my favorites as a child. The fact that the ship is named Melusine.... that's utterly perfect and I love it. A sequel has already made me super excited, the name of the ship makes me even more intrigued. I am so excited to revisit this world! Thank you so much.
I am excited.
Oh I am a million kinds of excited for this! :D
Yay!
Yay! I really liked Rolling in the Deep! ("You're a miracle" is one of my fav-ever moments in fiction. That was amazing.)
I am very excited to go back.
I made so many flailing squeals when Orbit tweeted about this. I adored "Rolling in the Deep". It was delightful and terrifying and I'm never setting foot near the ocean again, and I am so excited to visit the mermaids again.

I just pre-ordered it and I am over the moon. November can't come fast enough!
Glee.
Such an amazing announcement. I can't wait to read it! *^^*
Gleeeeeee.
All I needed to hear was "Mermaids and science" and I stopped reading your post. After reading it has "Mermaids and science", I was hooked.
(ummm no pun intended.. mermaids... hook. :) )

Chuck
Mermaids and science go together like cheese and pears.

Woohoo!!! Most excellent news!
I am delight.
Not being a glorious writer, my reaction was loud and profanity filled. Only suitable for my and Spike's ears (the local doggy overlord).
Can't wait, but guess I'll have to :)
It will be worth it!
Yeeeeesssss
So happy.
That's wonderful news, thank you!
You are so welcome!
Well, I bought the hardcover of Rolling in the Deep, so this is an insta-buy
Awesome!
OMG!! Rolling in the Deep was fantastic - and, by the way, the only piece of fiction I've ever read that actually caused me to have a nightmare after reading it :P - AND NOW THERE WILL BE A SEQUEL, AAAWWW YEEESSS.

Bit of a bunny trail, but I would like to add that one of my first and perhaps most nonsensical thoughts upon coming home to the aftermath of a small but VERY SMOKY house fire a year and a half ago was "MY SIGNED AND NUMBERED LIMITED-EDITION SEANANS. :(" I nearly cried when they, along with some irreplaceable signed books of my husband's, came back from the cleaners in perfectly good shape.

In short, your stories are treasured. ♥
Noooooooooooooooooo I am SO GLAD that the fire didn't eat your books!

Yes! I have preordered it and I'm so excited! I was really hoping that you would write more in this universe! I loved Rolling in the Deep and forced it on just about everyone I knew when I got it.

Thank you!
Hi!

Sorry to pop up on your comment, but where did you pre-order it from? I'm having trouble finding a pre-order place that will ship to Australia, maybe the place you got it from has international shipping guarantees!

Thanks!
