MAGIC FOR NOTHING open thread.

To celebrate the release of Magic For Nothing, here. Have an open thread to discuss the book. Judging by the comments I'm seeing, some of you have had time, and I'd really, really rather book discussion (sometimes including spoilers) didn't crop up on other posts.

THERE WILL BE SPOILERS.

Seriously. If anyone comments here at all, THERE WILL BE SPOILERS. So please don't read and then yell at me because you encountered spoilers. You were warned. (I will not reply to every comment; I call partial comment amnesty. But I may well join some of the discussion, or answer questions or whatnot.) I will be DELETING all comments containing spoilers which have been left on other posts. No one gets to spoil people here without a label.

You can also start a discussion at my website forums, with less need to be concerned that I will see everything you say! In case you wanted, you know, discussion free of authorial influence, since I always wind up getting involved in these things.

Have fun, and try not to bleed on the carpet.

Read this over a week ago and still don't quite know what to say... I had really been looking forward to finally getting to know Antimony better, but was very depressed at the end that after risking herself to save her family, Annie was left hunted and on the run, unable to go home.
Late to the party, but I loved every bit of this one. And I particularly loved that Antimony quotes Kitty Pryde to give her Aeslin mice the all-clear. Professor Xavier is a jerk indeed! (Or at least he was in that case.)
I am extremely late to the party, but I wanted to chime in with my own gushing and flailing about the book and the story so far. I wasn't in a good place when Chaos Choreography came out and thus ended up not finishing (I am so sorry), but I picked it up again last yesterday determined to be all caught up with my favourite author for her next bookday...and while I am still not at 100%, I finished BOTH books, reading pretty much nonstop.

While I think Verity is still my favourite of the siblings, wow, Antimony really struck a chord with me here. I love her growth, I love how she doesn't want to go but she also wants to go (I can so relate). Maybe because her struggles feel a little more real to me, since I'm pretty sure I've not had to give up a lifelong dream and passion in order to be of service to others in my "proper" job/role. But acceptance, identity, family--all that is fairly universal, and struck home pretty well. I hadn't been liking Antimony very much throughout the books so far, but in the span of one book, I love her too. ♥

And Sam is amazing and awwwdorable. I'm still a Dominic girl, but awwwwwwwww.

Looking forward to the next! (Next InCryptid, but also for September!!) Thank you so much for continuing to write :)
