On the thirteenth day of Hogswatch, your Seanan gave away...

...a MYSTERY!

Welcome to the last of the Thirteen Days of Hogswatch. Each giveaway has different rules and a different deadline, although all prizes will be mailed on December 30th, because I am bad at going to the post office (and also, I am avoiding the post office as much as possible until that other winter holiday is over).

The final giveaway is for a mystery prize. Everybody loves a mystery. This is going to be a random number drawing, because honestly, that is all I am managing to keep up with. So...

1. To enter, comment on this post.
2. If you are international, indicate both this and your willingness to pay postage.
3. Tell me how good you've been this year, and why the RNG should favor you.
4. That's it.

I will choose the winner at 1PM PST on Tuesday, December 20th.

Game on!

I've been good about tracking my personal goals and staying positive. The RNG should favor me because I bought and donated books for Christmas!
Commenting, US Local.

I've been middling good, but I didn't make anyone bleed, so that's a bonus!

I will, however, sacrifice a thing if the RNG favors me with this book.
I have made SO MANY BEAUTIFUL PONIES this year, holy cats. Surely that shall please the spirits of the RNG!
I have been mostly good this year, although technically I did assist my dearest and best librarian in cheating on their ex. I also assisted my dearest and best librarian in breaking up with their abusive shitwheel ex, which ought to mitigate the cheating bit. The RNG should favor me because I have had one hell of a year, with events including but not limited to learning that an ex of mine is an abusive shitwheel in a new and different way, losing the job that I really really loved due to Silicon Valley contract labor shenanigans, and getting surgery and radiotherapy for endometrial cancer.
Ooh, what an exciting mystery! I have been excellent this year -- I finally finished 9 (!) years of training and got my professional license as a clinical psychologist!
International, and willing to pay postage.

Tell me how good you've been this year, and why the RNG should favor you.

Um, good? I guess? I haven't sworn at customers or co-workers whilst on an active call, despite years of extreme provocation.

Or even The Worst Housemate In The World.

As for why the RNG should favour me, because it's the RNG, and capricious is what it's all about, naturally!
1. Commenting!
2. I'm in the US, but would be delighted to pay postage, should I win!
3. I have been quite good this year, managing to prioritize humans over other things in a year when other things tried to win.
4. That's it.
... and I managed to make the one possible error of misreading the prompt. If it's possible to recover from such a thing: the RNG should favor me because I'm a professor who teaches his students all about random numbers, even to the point of ESP testing them!
Ooh, a mystery!

I have been middling good. Am not sure refraining from metaphorically smacking somebody counts as actually being good, but there were several occasions of such exercise. Have entertained and adorned some people, and made a few smile.

The RNG should favor me if the RNG thinks it would be amusing to do so.
(I try not to anthropomorphize everything, because some things don't like it.)

I'm in the US.

I don't know how good I've been this year. I count myself lucky to have survived this year. I also don't know why the RNG should favor me. But I do want the mystery surprise.
1.) Comment, ho!
2.) I am local
3.) I've been very good this year... I've headed a charitable committee at my work all year and have helped raise more than $2,000 for nonprofits!
A good mystery is a wonderful thing.

I've been doing better at staying on top of email and other obligations. Does that count?
This is me! Commenting!
I am international by way of Canada, and willing to pay postage.
I have been pretty decent this year, I guess? I have done my best to help when I can, and to butt out when I can't. That second one is suprisingly difficult.

The RNG should favour me because that's what it wants to do. It just wouldn't do to try to change its nature.

Happy Holidays everyone!
I love mysteries. I have been good this year, I haven't un-friended anyone from Facebook due to politics and I am trying to be practice kindness (eyerolls don't count at work, right?). RNG should favor me because it never does, so I should have a higher chance now, right?
I have been buying extra copies of Seanan's books this year to introduce more people to her worlds.
I can't resist a mystery! I'm in Australia and very happy to pay postage.

I have been moderately good this year, but I *have* lived up to my self-inflicted writing commitments and I *have* just baked eight different kinds of biscuit/cookie (including gluten-free and vegan ones) to take to work to feed all the poor souls in Finance and IT and HR who have to put up with me and my scientists and our invariably annoying demands all year round, so I hope that counts for something...

Happy Hogswatch!

Catherine
Hi!

This has been a cool giveaway, and even if I don't win a thing it was fun.

I've been pretty good this year - made new friends and maintained my gpa, at least. The rng should favor me because I graduate college soon, and I could use all the luck I can get.
I hope it is I that you pick
My goodness is surely no trick
the RNG loves me best
for unlike the rest
I have told you all this in a limerick
I would adore a mystery! I have been good this year by working hard to be kind, even when life was handing me unpleasantnesses one after another.
I have been mostly good. I'm a little bit of pain in the ass to my wife. But I'm trying to be better, so favor me, RNGesus!
Well I've managed to get mostly good grades in college dispite this being one of the craziest, sadist, and most stressfull years in quite a while. I've been to funerals, weddings, hospitals, and this weekend was iced in and thus unable to go to a friends wedding.
I didn't vote for Trump, I didn't unfriend all my Trump-supporting Facebook friends, I have spent my year supporting my children in their efforts to provide community service through Scouting, I didn't chuck my entire practice out the window in frustration over anti-vaxxers and the proponents of Dr. Google, and I helped my son complete his requirements to become an Eagle Scout. I think I've been pretty good. The random number generator should offer busy moms a reward. :)

I have tried to be good this year. I moved to a new country for school (I have since moved back so I am not international), and did not hide in my room but went out and did the things! And made the friends!

Which, incidentally, is why the RNG should favor me: those friends live 4,000 miles away and I miss them, but random small joys (like mystery prizes) are good to combat cases of the sads :)
Mystery prize!! I'm so in.
Awesome! Will everyone else get told what it is after the draw? I'd love to know. (Sorry if that was answered higher up in the comments.)

I live in the UK and I'm happy to pay postage. I've been pretty good this year, because my year for being a Wicked Girl who saves myself is still a few years down the line. (It will happen. I'm hanging in there.) But I've remained a Wicked Girl inside (because that's a great way of saving yourself when there isn't yet anything else you can do). But in the meantime, I've kept doing my job (and my official job does help quite a lot of people in various mostly-small ways) and plugging away and bringing the kids up and, for the past few months, managing to homeschool my son to keep him out of the terrible local special school. It may not sound like much, but that's the summary; it was a hell of a lot and continues to be so. It's left me drained and desperate sometimes, but my day as a Wicked Girl will still come, and I hang onto that. In the meantime, I'd love to be entered into the draw.

Have a great Hogswatch!
