That actions have consequences. This remark sometimes only seems to mean Bad Consequences, but what I love about the books is that actions have all kinds of consequences, good, bad, and sometimes neutral or just kind of sideways. But nothing falls aside or is forgotten; effects propagate on and on.

Ooh, yes, this too! I love that it is the kind of long series that has no default setting. Things are always changing.
