This is going to be a fun week.

It's time for bullet-point updates! Hooray!

* Tomorrow (Tuesday, June 21st) marks the release of RISE, the complete Newsflesh short fiction collection. This book gathers everything from "Everglades" through Please Do Not Taunt the Octopus, along with two never-before-published pieces, All the Pretty Little Horses and Coming to You Live. It's not intended as an introduction to the world--at least four of the novellas are post-the original trilogy, which makes them great whopping slices of spoiler--but I'm incredibly proud of this material, and over the moon about finally having a short fiction collection of my very own. I feel like Stephen King. It's pretty awesome.

* Today is the last day of the Unicorn Empire T-shirt pre-sale for their gorgeous Toby Daye design. Don't miss out!

* CrossingsCon is this weekend! The first ever Young Wizards fan convention, and I'm one of their guests of honor! I keep closing my eyes and remembering standing in my middle school library with So You Want to Be a Wizard in my hand, and I'll be honest: I feel like a wizard right now. In Life's name, and for Life's sake, I feel like a wizard. Because somehow, I have willed the adulthood I wanted into being, and for all that it's not perfect, it's the imperfection that makes it all seem real.

Everything is amazing.

I preordered Rise, so I'll be hovering obsessively by the mailbox until it arrives.

YOU are amazing, and you deserve the best life ever.

Enjoy CrossingsCon, I am a great big Young Wizards fan \o/
I can't wait to read Rise on my flights tomorrow ^^ I am so excited for CrossingsCon! 3 years in the making and now it's a thing OMG. I have been working on this convention longer than I have been in grad school and I can't believe it's happening, it feels so unreal. Can't wait to see you there!
We just unpacked our shipment of RISE, so that they're ready to go out on the floor tomorrow. I've been going back to pet them.
Thank you for the reminder that I wanted one of those shirts (and oo, I hope I can nab a copy of Rise tomorrow before my super long bus ride on Wednesday!).

RISE is one of the few books I'll be buying this summer instead of library-ing (the other is LEAGUE OF DRAGONS). I'm excited to get it come payday. =D

Also: I'm reading YOUNG WIZARDS right now along with Mark Reads, and it's SO GREAT!!!! I'm sad I didn't discover it as a child. CrossingsCon sounds like something I might like to go to once I'm done with the series. :)

You really are quite wizardly. :)
I always, always always wanted to find my Wizards Manual and I can't tell you how many times I've read the Wizards Oath in the beginning of So You Want To Be a Wizard, in hopes that I would be able to become one. Alas, no magic has come my way, so I try and do Life's Work in the little ways. I'm so excited for you and I am very eager to see how this con turns out!
Yay for good things!
I somehow missed this series myself in all my moves and your mention comes just in time to feed my Bookwyrm of a nephew for the summer. He is loving my copies of the Belgariad to death and zooming through anything written that he can get his hands on. This series looks to be in his fiction catnip zone and thanks to Amazon he'll have a copy in his hands soon.
Thinking of you and Mark hanging out at CrossingsCon has made my weekend full of happy squee. Thank you.
