Lilly meets SANTA.

Lilly -- my crazy little bluepoint princess -- got to share an experience with human children the world over today: she went and got the crap scared out of her by Santa Claus. (I did have the owner of a small puffy dog ask me if I didn't think bringing my cat to the pet store was stressful and cruel. I did not respond by asking if she didn't think her dog's haircut was cruel. Be proud of me.)

Lilly was amazingly well-behaved, despite howling down the moon while we were in the car, and did not geld the big man. She even let herself be placed on a cushion in his lap, and stayed there calmly while the photographer made much of her. The wreath around her neck, yeah, also not a problem. This is a cat I could dress up like a pumpkin without really doing anything to piss her off.

The proof:

Lilly did get agitated after her picture was taken, when technical difficulties kept us standing around for another fifteen minutes or so. She stuck her claws into my shoulder several times as she scrambled for better footing, and my back looks like hamburger now. But that's okay, because she got to meet Santa.

I just hope she didn't ask for a pony.

Oh, I hope they get better! All our good wishes to them.
Thanks! The one at home is eating and drinking a little so we're cautiously optimistic. About to call the emergency vet.
I saw the update saying that things were looking up. I am so glad.
Thanks. Us too. Both are playing, scampering, cuddling, getting very upset when we force pills down their throats, and helping me grade term papers*, so it seems like all is going to be okay. We were really scared for awhile there.

*"Helping me grade" means alternately biting my pen as I mark papers in an effort to add their comments on, say, the reasons for the Scientific Revolution, and then walking across the calculator as I entered grades, resulting in my nearly submitting a grade of pi for one student and dividing another's grade by zero, which might have been appropriate for a theoretical physics class, butnot so much for anatomy.
ROFL

Thank you for the description of helping me grade. I needed the laugh. Fortunately none of my coworkers with cubes nearby are in the office yet...
Both I and my furry little helpers are happy to have brightened your day. :) I'm presently attempting to get some work done before they hear the typing and come to put in their two cents' worth.
Ah, yes. 'Helpful' cats.

Hooray cats being better!
