Lilly meets SANTA.

Lilly -- my crazy little bluepoint princess -- got to share an experience with human children the world over today: she went and got the crap scared out of her by Santa Claus. (I did have the owner of a small puffy dog ask me if I didn't think bringing my cat to the pet store was stressful and cruel. I did not respond by asking if she didn't think her dog's haircut was cruel. Be proud of me.)

Lilly was amazingly well-behaved, despite howling down the moon while we were in the car, and did not geld the big man. She even let herself be placed on a cushion in his lap, and stayed there calmly while the photographer made much of her. The wreath around her neck, yeah, also not a problem. This is a cat I could dress up like a pumpkin without really doing anything to piss her off.

The proof:

Lilly did get agitated after her picture was taken, when technical difficulties kept us standing around for another fifteen minutes or so. She stuck her claws into my shoulder several times as she scrambled for better footing, and my back looks like hamburger now. But that's okay, because she got to meet Santa.

I just hope she didn't ask for a pony.

I'm so proud of her! :)
She was a very, very good girl.

There were many claws inserted in my back, but she behaved herself admirably during the actual Santa-segments.
"I get fish when this is over, right?"
She got ice cream and snuggles. Good girl. :)
AHHHH! Mind control glowy cat eyes!!!
Not even SANTA can stand before the WRATH OF LILLY!
I just hope she didn't ask for a pony.

Of course not. She asked for plutonium ;-)

Have a lovely day! :-)
And then my cat destroyed the world. The end.
Meh. People need to realise not all cats are the same.

Two of my cats would be horrified and never forgive me for taking them to a petshop to meet Santa. The other would probably have a great time. Last time I took him to the vets he thought it was Party Time and rubbed all over some stranger's labradoodle.

I was unimpressed at the time as he'd been loosing conciousness at home and had been rushed in to said vet as a suspected poisioning. They thought I was insane.

Lilly looks pretty damn relaxed to me.
She was a little stressed, but compared to most cats? She was a screen queen. And now she's back to lounging and attacking my efforts to wrap presents.
Our big black cat would have been drawing blood, fleeing and then climbing something hissing and yowling.

It would have been a massacre.

Lilly looks great. *grins* If I took Ray and Apple in to a similar situation, Apple would likely freak and run.

Ray?

Ray would remove Santa's beard, because dude, it looks like a lovely toy. Or maybe he'd assault something else. *sighs*
Cats are awesome.
Nah, Lilly wants to be Ruler of the Universe. :D She is a Cat!
But she does look nice on Santa's lap.
Which beats my son who ran screaming from the strange man and would have nothing to do with him. Really!
I've seen a lot of kids do that. Hence my saying that she was participating in a great tradition.

If the dinosaurs come, I won't complain.

So cute! I hope I have the opportunity to do the same with my kittens; both are sick right now and have not been eating or drinking properly since Friday, and one is in the pet hospital receiving IV fluids while they try to figure out what's wrong (likely ringworms coupled with a secondary virus or infection, a bad reaction to their rabies shot a few days ago, or both). I'm a more than a little worried about them right now. But seeing Lilly happy and festive in the lap of one of the personification of one of my patron deities does me good and makes me hope for the best for my little ones.
Oh, I hope they get better! All our good wishes to them.
Thanks! The one at home is eating and drinking a little so we're cautiously optimistic. About to call the emergency vet.

Yay, Lilly! I think a pet store Santa would be insane if he didn't wear a cup. And Kevlar on his thighs.
Note that in the picture, she's sitting on a CUSHION. Santa's no dummy.
Oh, I did see that. And yes, that would provide a certain degree of protection. But he'd still be insane if he didn't have a cup under that cushion! I know how well pets stay on designated cushions :-P
