Welcome to the last of the Thirteen Days of Hogswatch. Each giveaway in this year's extravaganza has come with different rules and a different deadline, although all prizes will be mailed on December 30th, because I am bad at going to the post office (and also, avoiding the post office until that other winter holiday is over).
The thirteenth, and last, giveaway is for a MYSTERY ITEM of some kind. What will it be? No one knows! Not even me. This is going to be a random number drawing, because why I said so. So...
1. To enter, comment on this post.
2. If you are international, indicate both this and your willingness to pay postage.
3. Tell me one thing you hope the prize is. (ETA: Please only ask for things I might actually have. I can't give you a new job or world peace. I wish I could.)
4. Tell me one thing you hope the prize is not.
5. Tell me why the RNG should pick you.
I will choose the winner at 1PM PST on Sunday, December 20th.
Game on!

I hope the prize is a copy of Indexing: Reflections because I cannot wait to read it. I know that the serial version is out there, but there's just nothing like a physical book. I read screens all day at work. I want paper for my fun reading.
What do I hope the prize isn't...a live lizard. While I don't mind reptiles at all, my cat would have a fit.
I think that the RNG should pick me because...well, I could use the pick-me-up, but really, I hope it picks me because you're my favorite author and it would be awesome to get a book straight from you. I love reading everything that you write, and I would be very grateful if I was chosen. Even if it doesn't pick me, I think this is a really cool thing to do, and I thank you for spreading some joy around.

2 I hope the prize isn't delayed gratification. (I suck at that)
3 It should pick me because I need something good to happen right now.

2) In Canada and happy to pay postage.
3) I hope it's anything Newsflesh related, other than the already-published books. (Unless it's randomly/magically a Russian copy of Blackout! And I don't even know if that's out yet, as I do not read Russian, but someday I'll have the full set...) Or something mermaid related!
4) I hope it's not an already-in-print book, 'cause I'm pretty sure I have your entire catalogue already.
5) Why me? Um...because it would be awesome? ^_^

2. US, but happy to pay postage.
3. I would love one of your CD's, or a Velveteen book.
4. Not tomatoes.
5. This would balance the universe out after the awful Velveteen book debacle.
Please pick me!

2. I am not international (though happy to pay postage anyway, if that's not more trouble than it's worth)
3. Anything with your signature on it. I am still so bummed that I missed you while you were in the NYC area (because the universe is cruel, I, who have spent the last 22 years here pretty much without exception, was in England at the time). I'm not sure when we might be in vaguely in the same area again, since you're mostly on the west coast. So I'd be absolutely thrilled to receive anything -- a book, a CD, a poster, a napkin -- with a signature :)
4. Um...no spiders? They're cool and all but my tastes run more toward mammals. (Also, I was mostly kidding about the napkin :) )
5. Because the universe owes me one from that aforementioned bad timing incident.

Hope it is not: A Spider :\
RNG should pick me so I can have an awesome memory!
