Welcome to the fifth of the Thirteen Days of Hogswatch. I will be starting a new giveaway every day between now and December 13th. Each giveaway will have different rules, and a different deadline, although all prizes will be mailed on December 30th, because I am bad at going to the post office (and also, avoiding the post office until that other winter holiday is over).

The fifth giveaway is for copies of The Winter Long and A Red-Rose Chain (October Daye #8 and #9, respectively). Because these are later books in the series, I ask that you please not enter if you haven't read the earlier books; I would feel terrible for spoiling you. This is going to be a random number drawing, because I'm about to leave for my Borderlands event. So...

My favorite character is definitely the Luidaeg, because she's badass and clearly (mostly) a good guy, but she isn't nice. She's grouchy and wants to be left alone and doesn't understand why Toby has to help every single person who asks, but she's still generally on Toby's side. (And maybe also because I find it much easier to try and be a good person than to try and be a nice person, and I like it when that isn't shown to be a horrible character flaw.)

HOW COULD YOU POSSIBLY MAKE ME CHOOSE? But, if I have to, I'd say that my favorite is Tybalt. He's such a fantastic subversion of all the "bad boy" urban fantasy romance tropes, and he is the complete antithesis of the Nice Guy(tm). I just love him so much...

It's so hard to choose just one character as a favorite...but I think I'll go with the Luidaeg. All of her threats to kill Toby make me smile.

I'm in the US.

My favourite Toby character is probably all of them. The entire world just makes me sigh in love. To make me choose just one would be impossible for me, and I've debated for days over this.
