So tomorrow is my happy bookday, as A Red-Rose Chain drops and everything is awesome. I'll open a talkpost for y'all as early as I can, but I have a morning dentist appointment, so it may not be as early as I'd like. Please do not leave spoilers on other threads; wait for the talkpost to open, for the sake of people who may not be able to read right away, okay? Thank you so much.
I am super nervous. Pocket Apocalypse didn't make the NYT list, and I really, really hope A Red-Rose Chain does. So please forgive a little twitchiness as we go into the final countdown.
You're all amazing. Thank you for being here, and letting me tell you stories.
My copy is winging its way to me, and I keep thinking happily, "New Toby tomorrow!" and planning my day so I can read it right away. Thank you so much for sharing your worlds with us.
Amazon has assured me that it'll be in my mailbox (or at least on the porch) tomorrow "by the end of the business day". I don't want to wait that long!
I purposely finished the book I was reading AND DIDNT START A NEW ONE so I'd be free to start this as soon as it shows in my Kindle. I'm reading cereal boxes and toothpaste tubes... Hurry up, Tuesday!
I am being a good girl and ordering it from the local indie bookstore. Which for some reason usually takes them 2-3 days on average to get a book even though I ordered it last week. Grr.
Oh well, still trying them first instead of other alternatives so I can keep another bookstore in town :P
You have more patience than I do. I walked to the nearest independent store likely to have it, and when they didn't (they said they could order it), I walked five blocks further to Barnes and Noble. Of course, the fact that the weather is less than pleasant right now, and the fact that it was a 20-30 minute walk might have played into that decision... Oh, who am I kidding. I just couldn't wait to read it.
/rubs crystal ball. OMG. Amazing book. I can't believe what you did with the ***** in the ***** and how you ******** and then ************************.
Honestly, I am so excited about this new Toby that I'm actually planning to wait until 12:01 am on Sept. 1 (about 45 minutes from now, where I am), and see if Amazon updates the page and will let me buy the Kindle version that early. I've never tried this before so I have no idea if it will work. If not, I'll just buy it after work tomorrow (if I buy it in the morning I'll just read it during the day during work hours, I know myself too well.)
This time I went with a paperback instead of a kindle version. So now I'm waiting (rather impatiently) for the mailman to deliver my copy. Would it be considered rude if I snatch it out of his hands and run back into the house to read? lol
Well... after being so excited and looking forward to downloading the audio I instead find out I get to wait another week and attempt to avoid spoilers for an entire week waiting for the new release date of the audio to get here. I know it's not your fault regarding tech issues with the audio... but to have my 'countdown' on my pre-release purchase suddenly go from hours to an entire extra week. It hurt my heart. I feel like us audiobook listeners are the red-headed stepchidlren of the reading world. *Sigh* September started off on the worse possible foot for me.
It's annoying that Goodreads (and hence, and bunch of blogs with new release roundups) have the wrong date. GR is listing the release as 9/15. I really hope this doesn't mess up your sales/NYT listing chances, because people who rely on those list dates won't go looking for it for another 2 weeks. Obviously, there's nothing you can do about it, but I'm frustrated on your behalf.
I've been reading my Kindle copy this morning. The ARC is lovely, but I find it's much easier to sneak off to the bathroom to read if I'm not hauling a paperback with me.
This is one of the only times I am happy to be unbooked at work! It means I'll be able to get off early and get to the bookstore today instead of having to wait until tomorrow!
After some sleep my first iteration sounded amazingly passive-aggressive to me. Sorry about that. What I meant to say before my inner, sleep-deprived arsehole came out, was thank you for continuing to share your stories with us, I'm sure I'll enjoy reading A Red-Rose Chain once I get the opportunity. Good luck with the NYT list! :)
I am in the UK and Amazon still have sometime in October so I have ordered another copy from a second source which is also Amazon :( but that bit of Amazon says I can have it Saturday... so the other can be a lending copy \o/.
The release coming so close to my Daughter's birthday means I promised her first read. At least it's a weekend and she reads fast; maybe I'll have it by Monday.
