The time of the Traveling Circus is almost upon us!

Lo and behold, on September 1st, we will be returning to Borderlands Books to get our Traveling Circus and Snake-Handling Show on! As always, this means cupcakes during the break, and that's when you come in. Specifically...

If you are planning to attend the book event, and have a dietary restriction (vegan, gluten-free, specific allergies), please let me know before Monday, August 31st. Not all dietary restrictions can be accounted for (for example, if you're gluten-sensitive to parts-per-million, the cross-contamination risk is too high for me to tell you that the cupcakes are safe; there's wheat flour in the bakery), but I can at least try. Comment here to notify me of a dietary issue.

Because there is an increased charge for vegan, dairy-free, etc., I only order cupcakes to account for dietary restrictions I have been informed of. Please do not assume that because you came to the last event, and there were vegan cupcakes, that I will automatically have vegan cupcakes. You need to tell me if it's to happen.

See you in September!

Hooray! I have been asked on behalf of my cousin and my roommate, who have food allergies but not LJ accounts, to request soy-free cupcakes (cousin) and corn-free cupcakes (roomie). I myself cannot eat dairy. Thank you super much for doing this! We are super excited. ^_^
I will do my best, but I don't know if I can guarantee soy AND corn-free cupcakes. The bakery is good; they're not miracle workers.
Understandable. If it helps, roomie can do soy but not corn (corn syrup and corn oil and starch are the big worries here) and my cousin only has an issue with soy (and soy lecithin is safe, just not the milk or the oil) . But I understand bakeries have limits and we really do appreciate you doing this.
I'm not going to the event, however I did want to say thank you so much for being so thoughtful about this. It's incredibly nice of you.
Indeed!

I will not be attending, alas, due to a bad case of On The Other Side Of The World, but wanted to comment to remind Our Gracious Host that not only is she an amazing writer and I love her work, but she does so many awesome things for her fans and others, and is an awesome and amazing person.

*cheers Seanan!*
I try.
I sent you the email heads-up you'd requested last week, but just so you have it all in one place, we'll be bringing Kitten again, who is allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. (Her parents prefer not to put up her real name on the open 'net, hence Kitten.)

Also, people who usually take BART in to these events may wish to know that service through the Transbay Tube won't be happening Sept 5-7, so alternate transportation plans will need to be made. (I just noticed the signs this week. Quite unfortunate timing.)
Yaich, good to know! Glad we were planning on driving.
I appreciate Kittens' parents' caution.
who is correct? (also, if it is the 1st, the black death may not have arrived yet. alas.)
Gluten-free here! Thank you for being so awesome about the dietary issues, it means so much.
I do my best.
This link says that it's tomorrow on the Sept 1, but Borderlands website says you'll be there Saturday....Is it both?
