A small PSA.

Okay, folks:

I am not Amazon.

I do not control what Amazon does, or when they do it.

Please do not tell me when Amazon fails to push an episode of Indexing: Reflections: tell Amazon. They are in a position to help you. I am not.

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but...I had literally thirty people tell me when the episode pushed late today, and there was nothing I could do. I have no power here. You, as customers, honestly have more. So please, tell the people who can fix things, and let me live in my candy wonderland where nothing goes wrong.

Huh. I always assume it's just my system being screwy. All is well for me now, and I appreciate the reminder/notification.
Thank you.
Why people think Authors have all the power, will always baffle me.
Me, too. :(
Understanding hugs.
Thank you.
It's supposed to show up on Tuesday. It showed up on Tuesday. People fuss too much.
Unfortunately, when they put the serials (in general, not just Indexing, also speaking from experience with Scalzi's serials) up is kinda unpredictable. Sometimes they've been posted Monday nights, sometimes late Tuesday afternoons.

Grr, argh, but what can you do.
Often agree.
What?
You don't have a magick author-wand that corrects the computer systems of gigantic publishing companies?
Nope.
Do you have a magic pixie dust link where readers can go to gripe at someone in Amazon who cares deeply? If so, could you please share it?

(NB: I could care less in this case: I'll hold off reading/griping about Indexing:Reflections until it's complete, although I've subscribed. But if you can ferret out the complaints page for Amazon and spread it around that might help.)
The only contact I could come up with easily was:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/contact-us/

That doesn't mean that they'll care deeply, but honestly, they care a lot more about customers than they care about authors, in my indie experience. (They may care more about authors who are contracted with 47North, but honestly, I doubt they care much more when it's something tiddly like "a few hours late in the posting." It's automated. The publishing divisions of Amazon probably don't have a direct link to tech support either.) So tech support might get a call if a bazillion customers wail. Not if an author wails.
I don't have one that I'm authorized to say "this, here, is correct." But it's a good idea.
Ugh, all too often, People Suck.

Sympathies.
Thank you.
I'm sad that people made you sad. I'd suggest you go hug one of your lizards, but that might end badly.

I was glad that some people mentioned on the last thread that Amazon was aware of the issue and working on it - so I stopped worrying and waited for my e-mail (which showed up 3 hours later).

Quite enjoyed Broken Glass BTW , though not sure which was my favorite mental image was - Henry telling the Door to "Fuck off" (and it did) or Sloane in a sparkly ballgown slamming a guard's face into the wall
I noticed the new episode didn't actually show up on my Kindle even long after I got the e-mail notification that it was available, but when (after I finished the other book I was reading) I navigated to Indexing:Reflections and selected it, it started downloading the new episode. So I didn't worry about it. Maybe the same thing will work for others who have trouble?
Thanks for the tip.
Your candy wonderland produces awesome stories, and I loved the update. Thank you for writing, and publishing, your stories. Henry & Co are awesome.
