Question time! Because Toby trivia is fun.

It's been a while since we've done this, and with A Red-Rose Chain coming up, I figure it's time to once again offer to answer your questions about the world. So...

I will make ten blog posts detailing aspects of Toby's universe. Ask me anything! I will not answer every question, but will select the questions that I think are the most interesting/fun/relevant, and will detail them to my heart's content. There's a lot to learn and know, and asking loses you nothing. Remember that nothing I answer here is full canon until it appears in a book: I will always reserve the right to change things if the series shifts between now and then.

Leave your questions on this post. I'm declaring comment-reply amnesty for any that I choose not to answer this time, since otherwise, my wee head may explode.

Game on!

I'm curious about Faerie and trans* people: are there any trans* and genderqueer fae, and if there are, how would this be handled legally/socially/etc?
I came here to ask pretty much this exact same question. High five, Internet stranger!
I know she's said in a previous post a few years ago that every character we've met is bisexual except Toby. I get the feeling they just wouldn't care about someone being trans (and as a point, they could easily, well easier than humans, find someone to change their gender). I don't believe we've heard anything about titles only passing patrilineally (I think they pass to everyone more or less ,like eldest gets the kingdom/house, but everyone else is still that title unlanded?), so it really doesn't have any effect polticially.

And remember, when the fae don't talk about something it's not because it's embarassing, it's because they just don't find it interesting enough to talk about. Maybe the better thing to ask would be "are there any non-genderqueer fae". I mean, there's a reason fae/fairy is slang for exactly that.
