Question time! Because Toby trivia is fun.

It's been a while since we've done this, and with A Red-Rose Chain coming up, I figure it's time to once again offer to answer your questions about the world. So...

I will make ten blog posts detailing aspects of Toby's universe. Ask me anything! I will not answer every question, but will select the questions that I think are the most interesting/fun/relevant, and will detail them to my heart's content. There's a lot to learn and know, and asking loses you nothing. Remember that nothing I answer here is full canon until it appears in a book: I will always reserve the right to change things if the series shifts between now and then.

Leave your questions on this post. I'm declaring comment-reply amnesty for any that I choose not to answer this time, since otherwise, my wee head may explode.

Game on!

Spoilers.
Roughly, how many /fae/ are currently alive? Put another way, what is "X" in the statement "X of every 100,000 sentient beings currently alive are fae"?

Having posted that question, I've got some related questions:

* What percentage of fae reside totally in the Summerlands (say > 99.9 % of the time)?
* Are the fae distributed fairly evenly among the human population, or are the concentrated in certain regions (e.g. Southern California)?
* What percentage of fae regularly interact with humans? For example, I would expect that most of the sea fae rarely, if ever, interact with humans.
* To what degree do fae have political / economic influence in the human realm? Based on the books so far, it seems that fae generally finesse their way around human organizations, only interacting with them to the minimum degree necessary to avoid attention. Basically, are their fae movie stars? CEOs (of fortune 500 companies)? Politicians? Police / fire officers? If not, is this because it is forbidden (perhaps due to the risk of discovery) or because it isn't something that the fae are interested in?
