A RED-ROSE CHAIN cover reveal.

Psst. C'mere.

So it's no secret around here that I love, love, love my DAW covers, or that showing them off is one of my true pure joys in life. Chris McGrath, who designs the covers for the October Daye books, has been everything I could have hoped for in a cover artist. He's incredible. Want proof?

Go ahead. Take a peek.

Cut-tagged for the protection of your friends' list, which really doesn't need something this huge suddenly showing up without warning. But trust me, you should totally click.Collapse )

And I thought I was excited for this book before I saw the cover...
I love love love it! Toby has progressed and changed so much and the covers capture that amazingly well.
Chris does SUCH great work. I want to buy pretty much anything he does the cover for.

He's done Jim Butcher and Stephen Blackmoore's books too. Which are also great books!
AHHHH OMG LOOK AT HER ROUNDY-POINTY EARS

I can't wait to have this on my shelf!
Toby always gets amazing covers, but I think this is one of my favorites. My compliments to the artist! <3
I cannot give this enough love!

So eager for the next book!

Love it.
Her face is breaking my heart...
Cool.
And it’s available for preorder at B&N already!
Beautiful!!
Beautiful cover! Can't wait ♥
I DIE. (Along with probably at least one character, I assume.)

Seriously, there is something about the romantic dress with her jacket over it and her face that is giving me All the Feels.
Damn! That looks really amazing. :)

Gorgeous! I am very impressed by your cover artists. This is just beautiful.
What a lovely evocative picture!
Very nice. Also, in true Toby fashion, there is blood on her sleeve. Gotta love those accurate details :)
OMG, I can't wait for it. Toby has change so much. T.T
I love it. The bloodstained linen sleeves, the leather jacket slung over her shoulders, the look of determination (though I read a ton of other emotions in her face as well), the deceptively soft-focus belying the strength she's displaying - the effect is arresting.
Yay! Beautiful cover! The dress is wonderful and I have a great love of all the Toby covers. And the JACKET! I am very impressed.

I love the Toby series ... and ... and ... ALL the series you do. When 'Pocket Apocalypse' gets here, I will be up to date with all your currently-existing books [and have 'Red Rose Chain' pre-ordered]. Thank you for writing books I so enjoy reading!

Fantastic! As are they all. :D
My gods, the amount of symbolism in the cover is just astounding. I'm impressed when cover artists do pretty covers but it's really very rare to find one who works deep symbolism from the story into the cover art (usually, I imagine, from what I know of how publishing cover art works, the artists rarely have time to read more than a synopsis of the book, which for obvious reasons makes including symbolism difficult unless it's specifically mentioned in the cover art form). Seeing the same artists nominated for the Hugo year after year especially upsets me when I see artists of this calibre, craft, and understanding of both marketability and symbolism ignored.
