In which Seanan is flying to Florida.

This time tomorrow, I will not only be at Disney World, I will have been there for three hours. So you'll please excuse me if my current connection to linear reality is, um, not so solid. Nope. Not really. Here are things you'll need to know!

To anyone who wants anything from Seanan between now and May 13th:

I am very, very, very much in need of a break, and that is why I am boarding a big metal sky-bird and soaring off to the House of Mouse, where no one who isn't actually in my party will be able to find me with any reliability. I will have Wifi, and I will have my phone, but I will not be tethered to them as I am in the real world, and I won't be home, which is where things like "the mailing supplies" live. At this time, all giveaway prizes and contracts have been mailed, and there are still about twenty shirts pending (not counting the ones omitted from the original delivery). Two shirts have been returned to me due to address issues. This will all be dealt with when I get back.

Mail sent through my contact forms will go through Kate and Vixy, as always, with a catch: Vixy is going to Disney World with me. So if you're using the www.miragrant.com contact form, please expect delays all around.

To anyone who thinks it might be fun to rob my house:

They say not to tell the internet when you're traveling, because it tempts thieves. I get that. I also get that the nature of my life makes it hard to hide when I do something like "I'm going to drop offline for thirteen days and fill my Twitter feed with pictures of Disney World." So...

Please don't rob me, nebulous internet baddies. I have a housemate, a large dog, and a house-sitter. More, I really don't have anything valuable in the traditional sense; my only real electronics will be in transit with me, and most of my dolls are haunted. Save yourself. Stay away.

To anyone who thinks it's weird for an adult to be this excited about Disney:

I think it's weird how excited adults get about professional sports, but you don't see me coming into their space and harshing their squee. I even let Shawn tell me how the Red Sox are doing every season, despite my total lack of fucks to give. So please don't tell me my passions are strange or immature. I don't care.

Disney time! See you all on the rested, refreshed, wind-blown, sunburnt flip-side!

Disney time!! As someone whose nearest Disney park is several countries away, I am so envious right now. I hope you and the DMBs have the BEST time!

Enjoy your Disney, Seanan.
I so will.
Have an awesome time and a well deserved break. I has a jealous. (Never been to Disney so you have all the fun for me :)
If you ever have the opportunity, you should absolutely go.
Yay! I have not been to Disney in many many time-units. I hope you have an absolutely stellar trip, and that you get to ride alllll the roller coasters!
I will!
We will actually be in the Magic Kingdom on May 11. My birthday present is watching my toddler experience Disney for the first time. We shall be on the lookout for mantis shrimp hair if you're going to be there.
Oh my gosh, happy birthday!

I believe we will also be in the Magic Kingdom. Feel free to ping me on Twitter if you want to meet up for a hug and a howdy.
I hope you have a glorious time and I hope it is restorative and sweet.
Yes!
Say hey to the Mouse for us. :)
I will always treasure my first visit having been with you.
Disney World is mine and my daddy's favorite vacation, and we're 34 and 66. In fact, we all go for daddy's birthday every other year. :)
Yay!
Have a wonderful time, Seanan!
I will!
My next Disney World trip starts May 12, in time for the first Star Wars weekend of the year. And Flower & Garden! I'm ready to go today...
Oh, hooray!

You will JUST miss us. I wish you all the joy in the world.
I hope you find your inner Disney-peace. Disney-vana? Something like that :-)
Yes. Something exactly like that.
I will be Disney-proximal (at the old Orlando convention center) for a weightlifting competition Friday and Saturday, which may be our closest perihelion yet! This makes me giddy. :-)

Have as much fun as you possibly can. We are apparently rolling out the guest weather - the humidity broke today, so you will melt ... somewhat less than otherwise.
Woo!

If you wind up wanting a drink after the comp., Tweet me.

Have a fantastic and safe trip, and be wary of errant stealth mangoes. <3
I will!
Have a fun and safe trip! Come back with many new pins! Go visit the Trader Sam's there (it's new-ish!) Have a churro and save a thought for L'il D who asks about Daddy's friend "Shawn-en."

Rest up, bliss out, and remember to save some cash and a day for the 60th here in Anaheim.
We're renewing our APs while we're in Florida (inclusive of both CA/FL is cheaper than CA alone, when it's an upgrade from our current tickets). We will be coming to you soon!

My parents went to Disney World for their honeymoon. Later, we ended up going as a family every few years. I think we're due for another visit soon... Disney is definitely not just for kids.
Absolutely not.
I got back from a weeklong trip to WDW about 2 weeks ago. It was the best thing.

I hope your trip is as awesome as mine was and that you get to do ALL THE THINGS (or at least as many of them as you want) and eat lots of delicious (and possibly Mickey-shaped) foods.

Basically, have the best time and I look forward to any/all Disney-related tweets.
Yay!
As a fellow adult who loves Disney World more than just about anything...I am jealous. So jealous!

But I will get to go back this year! My boyfriend's mother booked a family trip to Orlando in August. Apparently, I count. So yay!
Yay!
I have only been to Disneyland for an evening so far, during a library convention in Anaheim, but my wife and I can't wait to go back! We had a blast, zipping around the park, enjoying the shorter evening lines, but we definitely couldn't hit them all. We will be back! And, having grown up in NY, I still want to go to Disney World, too, and the Epcot Center - a childhood dream!
Disney is wonderful! Have a ton of fun there and may the sun treat you kindly [far mor kindly than it treats me]!
I did not burn once!
Safe travels, and may you find Disney as refreshing to your soul as ever. I still remember my first trip to a Disney park (Disneyland, sometime in my teens), and just wandering Main Street soaking in the atmosphere late in the evening after dark had fallen but before they made us leave. It was wonderful.
Disney makes everything better.
I think it is weird that more adults DON'T get excited about DisneyOMGworld!
Agreed!
I see everything right in getting excited about Disney. It's so beautifully done, with amazing attention to detail. I wish I could visit the parks in Florida. One of my friends designed the Africa park, and told me fun stories about it. And of course, Hogwarts. I hope you have an amazing time filled with joy and beauty. Because how could you not?
Exactly so!
I cannot condemn anyone for loving the Disney parks. If I could afford it, I'd be very tempted by annual passes for Disneyland. But, last time I checked, I'd need the most expensive - since the lower cost for SoCal passes exclude most weekends and Anaheim is a bit too far from San Diego for evenings and Sundays (at least if we go to church like we try to).
I get that.
Have a good time at the Disney park(s) you go to.
I've only been the once, not expecting that much, but I did on the whole have a good time and spent quite a while geeking out about crowd and queue control.
They do an amazing job.
If you see this before you go: have a lovely, relaxing, rejuvenating time. Look after yourself. Treat yourself. Enjoy your squee.

If you see this when you get back: welcome back! You're looking very well and happy. You must have had a great time. I understand if your only response to this comment is 'thanks' due to being covered in disgruntled cats.
The cats are still annoyed.
