Off to the land without air.

Here we go again, happy people: tomorrow I shall board a big metal sky-bird and soar away to Colorado, land without air, to serve as faculty for this year's Pike's Peak Writer's Conference.

If you're attending, I very much hope to see you there. If you're not attending, I will be very surprised if I see you there. If you see me there, and I seem a little woozy, it's just the altitude sickness; please don't tell me to drink more water, as I may throw up on you.

Colorado time!

Enjoy! This is a good season to visit the Rockies.
It was beautiful.
This just reminds me that every time I fly, now, my brain starts singing "Fly Metal Bird" ttto your "Fly Little Bird". Which makes me happy, as though flying places didn't do that already!

I miss the high altitude, but it's definitely not for everyone. Good luck with that, and I hope you have a great time!
Hee hee hee.
I hope you enjoy the conference! That sounds like a lot of work, but really interesting.

It was hard but good.
I grew up in land without air (Idaho). Now when I visit I almost pass out stepping off the plane. I think "elevation: 33 feet" is a reasonable standard that should be maintained.
Agreed.
If we tell you to breathe more air, will you punch us? :)
I dunno, throwing up on people seems to be a lovely all-purpose deterrent for certain offenses.

(Maybe if you provide an oxygen tank? ...or is that contraindicated? ...DDP in one hand, oxy-bottle in the other? That could be nifty, if it were only feasible.)
We managed to get an oxygen bottle for my aunt when we were in Santa Fe for my cousin's wedding. It didn't help much, since much of the trouble is with vertigo from the pressure change.
Oh, that's a pity. O:(

(But now I know! Thank you.)
Funny story: I stopped breathing entirely.
