A question for the floor.

So:

Shortly before I left for New York (beginning of February, for those keeping track) and began the wonderful whirlwind that has been my spring convention season, I opened a hardship giveaway. Because of the timing of the trip, winners were not selected before I left, and have, in fact, not been selected yet. Since then, two more books have become eligible for hardship inclusion (Pocket Apocalypse and Rolling in the Deep). Also, due to apparent unclarity on my part, several people asked for books which I do not have in my possession. My question is this:

Should I do a drawing from that original giveaway post, or should I make apologies and open a replacement giveaway, with the updated book information?

If you're not sure what a hardship giveaway is, please check the "giving stuff away" tag for a better explanation than I am currently capable of.

Let me know what you think.

I'm tempted to say: do a drawing from the original, and do a separate one for the two "new" books. However, I realize that means more work for you, so I'm hesitant about the idea. I guess if it were me doing it, I'd draw from the original now and sometime down the road do another drawing. Caveat: I'm not personally affected, so it would be better to see what people eligible for the books have to say.
The reason there was an original drawing is that people donated postage costs. I can't afford to pay postage beyond that right now, so it's either "all original" or "all new."
Ah, I see. In that case, I guess I'd say do a new drawing.
Do a new post with the updated book information, I say. It will not likely hurt anyone who threw their name in the hat for the old post to do the same for the new post.
Thanks for the feedback!
Since the original applicants may not still be watching for a "you won!" post at this point, it probably makes sense to start over.
Truth.

This was the right call.
As one of the people who entered the original, I'd say make the apologies if you feel more is necessary, and then do a new drawing. I'm not sure my answers will change much, but the option is nice to have. :)
This was the right call.

New would probably be best!

I would say new--it makes it easier all around, I think-- and more fun to choose from for books for those who want to enter.

Starting new seems easier all around - it's the way I'd go.

I think you are a lovely person for doing this.

Which, you know, won't sway a jury if the bodies are ever found or the laboratory research gets published, but, in the meantime, might help if you're having a rough day.
