We could have had it all...

Better late than never, and I'm in England, which makes a little tardiness forgivable (because I don't live here, not because the English are chronically tardy, although if one judges by my friends, the English are maybe a little chronically tardy), so...

Rolling in the Deep, my story of mermaids and deep sea exploration and why maybe combining the two is a bad plan, is out! Yay!

The print edition is already sold out at Subterranean Press's website! I, er. Less yay.

But! There are other ways to get this fabulous tale of sirens and slaughter. The eBook edition is available now, from many fine retailers. If you still want to have a physical copy to stroke and love and call your own, I have called Borderlands and confirmed that they have five copies (5) on order. (They might be able to get a few more from their distributor. It's all a matter of timing. So.)

If you want to get a physical copy of your very own, please call—don't email, as email can take a while to be answered—Borderlands Books at 415 824-8203. The books are en route and are definitely coming to the store. If they go quickly, the store will attempt to obtain more from their supplier, but cannot guarantee any additional stock at this time.

Mermaids!

I used my birthday money to preorder Rolling in the Deep, and read it in one sitting once it arrived. It was FANTASTIC. I kept rereading certain bits to savor the words and the suspense. Also, it was really neat to see a Deaf person incorporated as a protagonist who was more than just being Deaf. I don't think I've seen that in literature lately (if ever). *applauds* My cousin currently has my copy and is reading it, and then my roommate has called dibs.
He was based on a friend who is Deaf, and I really wanted my friend to see himself in fiction. He puts up with me, so it seemed only fair.

Is the ebook version likely to become available outside the US? Apparently it's on Amazon.com but not amazon.com.au, alas.
That is never a question for me, unfortunately, and always a question for the publisher.

I'm super glad this is out in ebook, because while I did order the hardcover I am a total dumbass and transposed two numbers in my street address - and now it's lost in the wilds of Michigan (not my state), quite possibly never to be heard from again.

At least I can toss $5 at Amazon and still read it.

Note: Not asking you to fix my shipping woes, because you're not magic and also not the publisher (and I'm not quite THAT much of a dumbass). Just a bit of a whine/still very much looking forward to reading in whatever format.
Maybe write the publisher and say this happened, in case the book comes back to them?

I gotta say, for some reason this story gave me the heebiejeebies. I had nightmares for two nights about creatures from the deep :-)
Woo hoo!
Our copy arrived late last week, and I'm looking forward to reading it. I'll be packing it to read while away with Sarah for an anniversary getaway - we leave the electronic devices behind for those.
Yay!
Bah .com only not on .co.uk seems I may have to see if they will get me move countries again :D
Sadly, it is not available in the UK.
Oddly, the Subterranean website doesn't give any indication that it's sold out. (Unless it says so when you try to complete the order? I didn't go that far.)

Also, the print edition seems to be available on Amazon.
They went looking when I checked in last night, and have been able to release some of the copies they held back against oversales.

My copy already arrived at the address I was expecting to be at by now. Unfortunately I've had to postpone my trip and it's nearly two weeks until I'll be there. I'd probably still have ordered it that way even if I knew I'd be this late. I dislike traveling with hardcovers, and I'm a slow reader, I guess. I keep hearing about people reading books in one sitting, and I just don't understand how that's possible. Usually takes me 1-2 weeks to get through a normal length book. It starts slow, and then the second half goes by in two or three days.
It's a pretty short book, if that helps.
That was fantastic. :)
Yay!

Heh.
Ordered from Borderlands. Thanks for the alert.
Yay!
(Adding to the places the ebook is available: https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/rolling-in-the-deep/id983034759?mt=11

It does not appear to be available at any other country-codes I tried to plug into the URL -- so only the US iBooks store.)
Keen.
Yay, indeed. I just now bought the ebook from B&N and will be downloading it to Nixie shortly.
Yay!

Speaking of mermaids

Speaking of mermaids, "The Lady of Tides" is probably the most moving short story I have ever read. It's as poignant as the death of Thorin Oakenshield at the end of "The Hobbit".

Have you written any other Nyimi stories? I think the "Rolling in the Deep" mermaids are different.

That was some solid nightmare fuel. I'm pretty sure I dreamed vague, disturbing dreams about creepy-crawlies in the deep after I finished...

I'll be reading it again...but I have to recover first. LOL.

Also, <3 David.
This makes me very happy.
I was one of the people lucky enough to get a copy of Sub Press' Rolling in the Deep before they sold out, and I totally loved it. I will never be able to look at Ariel in quite the same way again. It struck me as a I was reading it, that it would make a really good horror movie.
I know, right?

GET ON IT, HOLLYWOOD.
I've watched a few things on the "Imagine" channel and the structure of this story just nails it!! And the marine biologist hiding in me just loved this story. Completely made of awesome!!!!!!!!
This makes me happy.
Thank you for the reminder! Purchased!
Yay!
It was a fun read, had me wanting more at the end. Glad I got on the preorder. I'll probably get the ebook as well for travel and 'first taste is free' sharing with friends :)
Fabulous.

Mine got to Oz on the 16th, which is hella fast postage, yay!

I kind of have a Thing about deep sea creatures and big ships. My Thing is composed of massive amounts of nope, which is probably the opposite of your Thing, which I personally imagine involves hugging hagfish. So this was the first of your books that I decided I was not going to read at bedtime, just in case. I am very glad this was the decision that I made, because even when I was reading the book in broad daylight on a train full of people, I still got a major case of the wiggins.

I loved it. I will never go in the sea again, just in case, but I loved it.
You live in Australia, sweetie. You shouldn't have been going in the sea to begin with.
Looks like I pre-ordered it just in the nick of time, I guess, since I got my copy last week (and it is numbered in the 300s, so it must have sold like hot cakes)
Yup!
Weird thing: Amazon.com had this available and I went to buy it this morning and now there are no more ebooks available :( It looks like Kobo is the same. Just a heads up for you that it's gone. I'm hoping it's temporary.
It's showing up for me when I look now. Can you try again?
