Ten things make a list. This is a list.

10. Seattle is beautiful. I know this, because I am currently in Seattle, at least until Monday (the 30th), when I will fly back to California, have my hair done, do my laundry, sleep, and get on a plane to England. I won't be home for more than a day until April 15th. My accountant is thrilled.

9. Emerald City Comic Con is this weekend! I have posted my schedule. It's very packed and very pretty, and I am super excited about all the good things to come. Whee!

8. Before I left California, Kate and I did a massive post office run, and I mailed another huge batch of domestic shirts, as well as about a third of the remaining international shirts. I will try to send another batch before I leave for the UK (although I can't guarantee it). Also, my mother called to let me know that a box from the shirt shop has shown up, which I presume contains the shirts that weren't printed in the initial delivery. Hooray! I won't be able to sort these until after April 15th, but hopefully this means we can finish fulfillment sooner than later. Thank you all for your patience.

7. Still not writing the X-Men. Give me time.

6. Rolling in the Deep comes out next month! On the seventh, to be exact, and it is fancy. Seriously, this may be the fanciest book I have ever written, at least in terms of awesome production values. What a fancy, fancy book. Also it is filled with murderous mermaids and ill-fated ocean voyages, which are two of my favorite things. Because this is a Subterranean Press book, there's no guarantee it will be coming to a bookstore near you, and it may need to be ordered directly from the publisher.

5. This morning was the San Diego Comic-Con hotel scramble, and it says something about how stressful this is on an annual basis that I was on the Air B&B site shortly after, looking at local condos and thinking "maybe this wouldn't be so bad." I need help, and the con needs a better way of handling hotel assignments.

4. We are getting pedicures today. Because we are fancy ladies.

3. Speaking of fancy ladies, I am seeing so many of my favorite fancy ladies this coming weekend that I can't even express how happy I am. Like, I try, and all the words go away and then the flailing happens and sometimes I just really love my life, okay? Sometimes my life is best.

2. Zombies are love.

1. I will be going to Disney World for the first half of May, so if I seem a little AHHHHHHHHHHHH for the next few weeks, it's because I am literally three conventions and six weeks away from Disney time, and I need Disney time so bad y'all, I need it so bad I can taste it.

What's shiny and new with all of you?

*sobs* I wish I could go. I would bring druggie toys for Alice and Thomas, and candy corn and dress up and go to all your sessions.

On the plus side, I ordered Rolling about a nanosecond after it was announced. I will need to restrain myself if Bill doesn't ship them out ASAP. Annoying publishing houses is not a good thing. But bloodthirsty Mermaids!!! I got a copy for Ali, too.

What else are you doing in Orlando? Harry Potter worlds are lovely, too.

Wish you could dip farther south to Miami. Book Fair?
Nothing. Just Disney World. DISNEY IS MOTHER. DISNEY IS FATHER. DISNEY IS ALL.

I really need some Disney time.

Reading happy posts like this, and looking forward to 'Rolling in the Deep'.
Yay!
Running the numbers, if you're not flying out to LHR until Monday you are going to be a zombie until Wednesday at the earliest, aren't you?

Food: I do not know if you do Indian food at all, but there are some very good (and cheap) restaurants within a short bus ride of the Dysprosium con hotel. Not only that: they can cater to a fair range of dietary needs, as long as you're not violently allergic to Indian spices. (Feorag has no trouble eating at Heathrow-based cons.)
I was a corpse. Not good.
We're going to St. Thomas in the first half of May. I'll wave at you in Orlando.

We're thinking about the possibility of a vacation in southern California in 2016, which would include my first-ever visit to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. We shall see.

And as I catch up on my reading (just finished and loved Jim Hines' Unbound), Pocket Apocalypse is next in the queue in my Kindle app.
I hope so!
Dusted off this account (or more precisely, remembered the password). Got the copy of "Stars Fall Home" from CD Baby in the mail today. I shall be a happy Rev, with headphones and whiskey and video games tonight.
1: The Westercon 68 room block is supposed to run through Wednesday night (I hope - that is what I've said publicly elsewhere). I'm 99% sure that Val can make sure you have reservations at least through then.

2: I'm sure I'm not the only one who has crash space to offer in the San Diego area. Our space isn't downtown (its out in Rancho Bernardo, which would be considered a suburb east of the Mississippi), and our car has somewhat limited space due to my wife needing a scooter. But, if push comes to shove, we'd be thrilled to have you (and your +1)

"Rancho Bernardo, which would be considered a suburb east of the Mississippi"

I'm up too late. I had to parse that three times before I came up with "Rancho Bernardo would be considered a suburb in places east of the Mississippi," instead of "Rancho Bernardo is so far outside San Diego that it's people think it's east of the Mississippi."

Mostly schoolwork: currently buried in mostly women's history (Queen Arwa of Yemen and classical Greek women), with a side of research into Alexander the Great and his sexuality. Pretty interesting work even if I have books piled up to my ankles on my bedroom floor and will until the end of the semester.
Awesome.
I just got back from Disneyland. One of the two days I spent there may have been in the top 5 best days of my life. In other news, I need serious dental work. I am terrified.
Awesome, and ack.
Shiny is going to see Nightvale on Friday! I'm going to bounce around the city, do fun things with my roommate and then bask in the awesomeness that is Cecil Palmer. XD (I am also hoping for the shiny of an awesome new job)

Your shiny sounds awesome and exhausting, but Disney at the end of the wild ride sounds just what a person needs. XD
Yay!
You are the awesome. I'm in awe, really, at how much you manage to do!

What's shiny and new with all of you?

I have a new goat baby, just born yesterday! She is black with white paint splatters.
Awwwwwwwwwwwww.
I'm at Disney World May 12-19, catching the end of Flower & Garden (with food booths!) and a Star Wars weekend. And we snagged a reservation for the new breakfast in the Beast's Castle in the MK!
YAY!
I have bopped off to order Rolling in the Deep and then noticed that Cat has a new novella out, so Speakeasy is also getting ready to wend its way to me. ^.^ Woohoo!
Awesome!
Rewatching the original Dawn of the Dead, and enjoying all over again.
Excellent life choice.
I think/hope I will get to go to my first con next year, DragonCon, with my brother and sister in law. I've already planned out my cosplay (Scientist Princess Bubblegum, Kate Bishop, Disney Bounded post hair cut Rapunzel (bounded cuz I can't afford that dress)). I'm really excited for something that might not even get to happen.

I went to Disney World for the first time last year and it was so amazing I wanted to go back immediately. Family might be going next year, not sure, and after that it'll depend on my employment situation and time off and whatnot.

I'm going to order Rolling in the Deep right now and if you wrote x-men I'd totally read it.
<3
Like, arm flailing, or crop threshing flailing, or flailing the peasants kind of flailing?
All of the above.
5. I hear you about ComicCon. It's very cool, but the stress is nasty. One reason I've started going to PhoenixCon with my sister, instead. Girl!time!

2. Amen, sister!

1. Cool!

All is awesome.
All of this sounds very excellent, and I hope you have a lot of fun at DISNEEEEYYY!

Shiny and new with me? Well, I'm three weeks into my first stint as a long-term middle school sub (verdict: more hormones than high schoolers but the kids are also a lot more playful and that helps) and six weeks from my Big Dance Teacher Exams for scottish country dancing. Everything is sortof a "move move move!" which would be great except I just wanna sit down and read books.

(I just finished reading the Newsflesh trilogy for the first time the other week, and oh my god, it was so good. Now I am reading Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality since I hear it just finished and I last petered out somewhere around chapter eighty. Both have totally consumed any boring things like "writing lesson plans" or "practicing my dances" or "remembering to mail the rent check". This is not a great trend for the long run, but I am rather enjoying it in the short term.)

~Sor

(You don't know me at all, bytheway, I just wandered over here from Tumblr and have decided to follow you and I hope that's cool you're cool and you write good!)
Oh, how are you liking teaching at the middle school level?

YAY!
I finished Pocket Apocalypse yesterday and being an Aussie, squeed the whole way through. I now have this intense hankering to make you a yowie. It is on my to do list.
This makes me infinitely happy.
Nothing shiny and new, but imagining you staying at an AirBnB makes me think of the reviews if the Munsters were trying to make a little extra cash.

"Hosts are definite characters. Grandfather is up at all hours. Not for light sleepers." A. Nonymous
"Building should be condemned, but beds are comfortable." - Penn Naym
"A++ Would stay here again." - MacheteGrrl
I WOULD MOVE IN.
I see goooood stuff is going on! Yay to that! :D

shiny and new over here? the apartment I'm moving into this weekend. I'm not going to write about details of assembling furniture for hours and packing a ton of stuff and still packing it, in fact though. The shiny new apartment is the destination! :D
Awesome!
If you'll be seeing Auntie Jilli, I hope you'll have time to get a picture with her. You are my two favoritest people and to see that much manic glee in one photo would be worldbreaking.

Shiny and new is this bottle of Irish cream, a shot of which I'm about to put in my hot chocolate before I head to sleep. Purrrr.
She makes me happy. <3
My shirt arrived last week. It is wonderful. Thank you to you and Kate.
Yay!

You had better not wear black on the days you're home because you will be covered in cats.
They are clingy rabbits.
