Let's go to Australia and poke horrible things with a stick for fun!

It's time for my first Pocket Apocalypse giveaway! Hooray! This giveaway is going to be US addresses only; I'm still mailing T-shirts, and my post office workers are starting to mysteriously go on break when I show up, because of all the international packages. I know it's not fair, but I can't add more customs forms to the pile or they're going to close completely.

I will do open-to-international giveaways before the book is released, and I'm hoping to clear out more of the pending packages in the next week or so.

So, the rules for this one:

1. Leave a comment.
2. Indicate that you have a US address I can ship to. (You don't have to live in the US. You just have to have a US address.)
3. Name your favorite cryptid and why.

I will use the RNG to choose three winners on Tuesday, January 27th. But there's a twist! Only one person can win for each cryptid. So be honest! Name your favorite! Just be aware that the odds are lower for the Aeslin mice than for, say, the swamp bromeliads.

The field guide is here, if you need some help.

Game on!

Indeed, I am in the US!

My favorite cryptid is the Madhura. Mostly because I am a sucker for baked goods and would be perfectly happy living a diet of fruit and honey, but also because they're just so darn beneficial to the areas around them.

1. hello
2. US mailing address
3. Basilisk
i enjoy the chicken-like appearance combined worth a deadly nature. Having raised and been attacked by a flock of roosters when i was tiny. I support any representation of fowl that earns them more respect.
Hello, it is Aubrey! I live in Florida and you already know my address. I think.

THIS IS A REALLY HARD QUESTION BECAUSE AESLIN MICE AND CHURCH GRIFFINS EXIST, but I think I have to go with chupacabras. Because vaguely canine murderbeasts are awesome, as are gila monsters, and I think their design is super cool. Also they're one of the cryptids I vaguely hope exists in real life, somehow, just because it'd be cool.
IT IS HARD FOR ME, because I have a bunch that all tie for top position. Buuuuuut I should be honest and admit that I love lesser gryphons. Specifically church gryphons (griffins? I don't remember which spelling you use) because I am a HUGE sucker for corvids and while Coyote's my main man Trickster-wise, I also have a soft spot for tricksters, so... Raven, Crow? Yeah.

...also I am definitely in the US
I live in the US, and started by reading the Toby series.

Honestly... my favorite cryptids are frickens, because they showed up on a MU* as a creation of a particular mad scientist/magician (you know which one!) and became the central focus of a chain of Fried Fricken fast-food restaurants. The association makes me laugh.
US address, no problem. And though I'm tempted to say Aeslin mice, I will (ahem) pick screaming yams. Because, screaming yams! And a little because the yam on my counter fated to be part of dinner looks like it might indeed scream any minute.
I live in San Francisco. The post office won't have to expend a whole lot of effort at all to bring it to my door!

My favorite cryptid from the InCryptid series is the screaming yam. I think it would be awfully tasty roasted with a slice of a Butter Lamb (https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xap1/v/t1.0-9/10151884_10203562035912350_5753294986100564453_n.jpg?oh=c219bdf06910e1bca36d949093f691dc&oe=55214367&__gda__=1432978482_d8ab237478f9da4c613f4aed4cf5b99e) on top.

My favorite cryptid that hasn't shown up in the series is the Oklahoma Octopus, the mythical freshwater cephalopod bringing swimmers down to their watery grave. Even Scientific American wrote about it (http://blogs.scientificamerican.com/octopus-chronicles/2013/12/19/could-an-octopus-really-be-terrorizing-oklahomas-lakes/).

My favorite creature recognized by the greater scientific community but I'm betting has strange and spectacular powers anyway nobody talks about is the adorable axolotl (http://www.axolotl.org/).

I have a US address.

I love the Madura beyond all reason. Family-oriented, nice, and smelling of gingerbread -- what's not to like? Can I get a line on an apartment in a Madura neighborhood? Because I'd totally invite the whole family for tea regularly; I'd be sure to write down each person's favorite type of tea so I could have it on stock in the cupboard; and I wouldn't even hint that I wanted them to bring the scones (though of course, I wouldn't turn it down if they offered).
I live in the US.
My favorite cryptid:the cuckoo, because...Sarah, the insane love child of River Tam and Charlie Eppes.
Love this series! I loved the dragons the most so far. Their mythos was so different than anything else I've read. And yes I'm in the US.

I have a US address. I'd say my favorite cryptid is the werewolf, but what with it not being a true cryptid and the debate over whether it should be included in the guide in the first place, my favorite true cryptid is the sylph.
1. Wheee!
2. Yes, US!
3. I have a great deal of love for the Coatl, but I think I have to go with the cactus cat as my actual fave. Prickly kitty!
Good old USA here. I love the Sasquatch. I love the mental image of the female Sasquatch that Verity sublet from contorting herself to shave in that little tiny shower. It's just such a mundane relatable thing, but on a massive scale
I live in the US. My favorite cryptids are the Madhura, because they smell like gingerbread and being around them inhibits dental decay. Great cookies and no more root canals - who could ask for more?
1. Thank you for hosting all these lovely giveaways.
2. I am located in the US and therefore my mailing address is too.
3. Frickens, in particular the poison dart variety, because a) feathered frogs in beautiful colors and b) the name always makes me smile
US address approved
My vote is for the Tanuki. How can you not vote for a mash up of free love and the Thing.

US address....

I'm torn about my favorite cryptid. I don't think you've described a turtle-based cryptid, which would be my first choice. After that, I'm torn between the sylph (density control = cool!), the cactus cat and the tailypo. I'll go with the tailypo - the long tail, the (faux) connection to Maine Coon Cats, etc., all add up to a neat cryptid.
I have a US address!

My favorite cryptids are the dragons, specifically the females of the species, because I love the idea of them hiding in plain sight for all this time. Also, I like anything that can set itself on fire as a form of defense.
I am in the us. Favorite cryptid - cactus cat. Because (1) puns belong everywhere, including species taxonomy and (2) I think I may have one at home.
I live in the US and my favorite Cryptids are Poison Dart Frickens. I would love an aquarium with a couple for my hypothetical cat to watch.
1)Yes
2)In the us
3)Aeslin mice hands down
YES PLEASE

I LIVE IN THE US

THERE ARE SO MANY FANTASTIC CRYPTIDS HOW DO I CHOOSE JUST ONE?!
OK FINE --- The wadjet are pretty awesome, because of the interesting and extreme sexual dimorphism, but also because SNAKES <3

I do, indeed, have a US shipping address.

My favorite cryptid is the Aeslin Mice, because they're the mice, and they're adorable. Also surprisingly deep, which is just how I like my cute things.
