Let's go to Australia and poke horrible things with a stick for fun!

It's time for my first Pocket Apocalypse giveaway! Hooray! This giveaway is going to be US addresses only; I'm still mailing T-shirts, and my post office workers are starting to mysteriously go on break when I show up, because of all the international packages. I know it's not fair, but I can't add more customs forms to the pile or they're going to close completely.

I will do open-to-international giveaways before the book is released, and I'm hoping to clear out more of the pending packages in the next week or so.

So, the rules for this one:

1. Leave a comment.
2. Indicate that you have a US address I can ship to. (You don't have to live in the US. You just have to have a US address.)
3. Name your favorite cryptid and why.

I will use the RNG to choose three winners on Tuesday, January 27th. But there's a twist! Only one person can win for each cryptid. So be honest! Name your favorite! Just be aware that the odds are lower for the Aeslin mice than for, say, the swamp bromeliads.

The field guide is here, if you need some help.

Game on!

Hi! I'm in the US.

I'm torn between the frikken and the Mishigamaa!

But, since I have to choose, the Mishigamaa wins because who _doesn't_ love lake monsters?
I'm in Los Angeles. And my favorite cryptid is the Waheela Istas because of her style and personality. It seems she is unusual for a Waheela, but I adore her, and hope we get to see more of her at some point.
Cactus cats because, cats. And cacti.

I'm in the US.
Yay for U.S. address (yes!) Will be driving thru Dubois, WY. in a few weeks, where I'll catch a glimpse of the tasty jackalope.

I do have a US address! This counts as a comment, right? GAAAAAAAAAAAAH I just whooped at my friend and pointed out the shiny giveaway. And my favorite is the bloodthirsty waheela because they are bloodthirsty and anyone that can do goth lolita and then kick ass is awesome.
1. I may be able to talk about Cryptid vision while teaching this semester (I have to teach first year undergrads about color vision later in term).
2. Yep. Very much in the US.
3. I think I've got to go with Waheela. Because anything that threatens "I'll wear [internal organ] for a hat" is someone I want on my side.
Yay! I am in the US. Also, having a hard time choosing. I will have to go with cactus cats because a) taxonomy puns, and b) I am allergic to actual cats but also have a soft spot for unpettable but adorable things.

In related news, Antisocial Hedgehog is the name of my next band, which will make ridiculous noises and probably be too grouchy to come out and see any of its fans.
I am quite fond of the Madhura. Why? Because sugar. And Gingerbread.

I do live in the US!
And I freaking love me some gingerbread.
US mailing address here, and I'm going to pick the finfolk. Partially because mermaids and partially because I think it's interesting how they've organized themselves to cope with the fact they slowly 'return to the sea', but still care for the relatives the sea has taken.
I am in the US.
My favorite cryptids are the dragon princesses. I just love the idea that the princesses are the females of the dragon species.
Okay, who am I kidding? The Aeslin mice are my favorites. Because they often bring to mind this poem.
Commenting, with a US address. My favorite cryptid would have to be the dragon princesses/dragons because, well, because DRAGONS.
My current favorite is the fricken, because it took me a number of pages to realize that fricken=frog+chicken. And I was just really entertained once I figured it out.

Also, I'm in the US.
I totally did not notice that. Thanks for pointing it out! (hi :) )

I have a US address and my favorite cryptids are Madhura. I love how little is known about them and how much good they bring to their world. The Sunils are one of my favorite families in the InCryptid world. Also I have a huge sweet tooth so I feel like if I lived near a family of Madhura, I would live in their shop.
1. This is a comment
2. I have a US Address
3. The Aeslin mice, of course. So seemingly silly on the surface, but so serious underneath. I know that everyone loves them, but honesty triumphs over playing the odds.
wonderful userpic!
In the US. Church Griffin! I have a thing for cats, particularly Maine Coon type cats. The non-cryptids are fuzzy, clever, demonic little cute monsters, cross it with corvid smarts and you end up with Adorable, Clever, and Evil (benignly evil if you're lucky!).
I have a US address for shipping.
My favorite Cryptid is the Madhura! I loved the Madhura family we saw in DA and MBLS, and I have been craving their gingerbread for an incredibly long time. The glimpses we got into their mysterious relationship to the Cuckoos are both amazing and frustrating (I want more knowledge! Verity doesn't have it! Alas, woe is me.) I wish I lived near a Madhura family, because I can't currently afford a trip to the dentist and I have some baked goods I'd like to keep fresher longer.

I have a US address, and my favorite cryptids are the Madhura. Anyone with magical-biological pastry-making powers is a friend of mine.

Edit: Wow, I did not expect Madhura to be so popular. But everyone does like gingerbread...

I have a US address
Favorite Cryptid: Waheela - shape changer that loves the cold and has awesome fashion sense
Greetings! I am in the Continental U.S. and my favorite cryptid is the Tanuki!
1. Fun contest
2. US address
3. Wadjet

Twisted Beauty and the Beast, I just love the picture of the couple so comfortable together. I liked the idea that scientists put their own prejudices of servitude on it, but it actually might be a complex relationship that is healthy for both parties.
Yes, I live in the US. As for cryptids, gotta love me some jackalopes. If nothing else because they are tasty as all get out.
1. Comment!! Also, NEW BOOK SOON!
2. I live in Texas
3. Oh man, such a hard question. I think right now I'd have to say the basilisk because your basilisk and the one from Harry Potter is so different, it freaks me out. lol And I love the genus name.
In the US. Favorite cryptid? I'm a Pacific Northwest girl, so it's the sasquatch, hands down. Part of my regular summer reading as a kid every year was all the books about sasquatch/yeti/etc that the library had (in addition to ghost stories, vampires, and Conan short stories - yes, this has probably marked me for life).

Never seen one, still looking every time I go into the woods!
Posting a comment; definitely a US address [altho some in California would want the state to be its own nation] - and favorite cryptids has to be tanuki!
