POCKET APOCALYPSE cover reveal!

So it's no secret around here that I love, love, love my DAW covers, or that showing them off is one of my true pure joys in life. Aly Fell, who designs the covers for the InCryptid books, has been everything I could have hoped for in a cover artist. He's incredible. Want proof?

OH MY GOD YOU GUYS OH MY GOD IT'S THE COVER TO POCKET APOCALYPSE AND IT'S GORGEOUS!

The sun is up and the wolves are out (and you know shit's gonna get bad when THAT happens) and they're in a billabong and everything! And they're both wearing clothes they would actually wear in that situation and it's just amazing.

Glee.

(As always, I claim full comment amnesty, although I love it when you comment, because I can show my cover artists and make them happy.)

that is a GORGEOUS cover!!!

the only possible thing a body could say ill about it is...the hold the woman has on the rifle. were she to be holding a firearm in that fashion, she would be in the process of *dropping* it, unless that was the effect the artist was going for, in which case, nevermind me.

but everything else in it? fabulous! the way the couple is arranged in the middle of the piece, the wolves, the way the trees frame the middle? absolutely breathtaking!

I love how he's got the "It's dangerous, and not what we expected. I need to edit the write-up on it!" look. Ok, so I'm inferring a lot, but still, they both look more surprised in the "not what we expected" way rather than the "oh shit run!" way.

I would very probably buy the wolves with glowy eyes even if it didn't have your name on it. (Of course, since it says "Seanan McGuire" and "An InCryptid Novel" I would buy it whatever the cover picture. But it's nice to get a pretty and intriguing picture to go with my book!)

Whee!

It's absolutely perfect, especially taking into consideration that it's a book cover. Though I'm amused by my own visceral reaction to having long hair loose in that environment. (Yes, it's true, my hair is currently between 2-3mm long. But it was hip length for 16 years before, oh, the Chan order, and getting tired of people grabbing it during sparring even when it was french braided really tight, and then there was Cleveland... And that was mostly 16 years of having it tied or braided up except for the occasional party, really.)
