and has anyone else besides me noticed something off about "Marcia" in Goldengreen. when evening flung that spell about and everyone almost drowned, it was Marcia who was left standing and helping Dean. it was also Marcia who appeared as if she already knew about Arden being the princess in "chimes at midnight". Also hopefully we will get to meet more firstborns soon as this war heats up.
thanks again for the wonderful book ....given me an excuse to re read the series from the start.

(Of course, maybe a Firstborn's blood is just so much more potent than ordinary fae blood, and would result in offspring with stronger fae blood than mortal blood otherwise.)
Marcia is really, really confusing me at this point. For one thing, I agree it seems like she knows Arden, but if she was the same then as she is now (i.e. having very weak fae blood) then she'd be really, really old? Visibly old? I mean, yeah, her fae blood would slow down her aging somewhat, but we have Karen's parents as examples of changelings with different blood ratios visibly aging at a different rate. I think Marcia would have to look middle-aged at least, and I don't actually remember exactly how she looks like (drat--this is the problem with ebooks, can't flip to sections quickly) but she doesn't sound middle-aged.
CONFUSED. MUST RE-READ.
I did wonder, though, at first, if Marcia was Eira in disguise, just with some pretty intricate magic+shapeshifting (i.e. like the Luidaeg). But then I find it hard to believe Toby would be completely oblivious to that level of shapeshifting (especially as she does make note of it with the Luidaeg)--not with her set of skills.
