THE WINTER LONG open thread!

To celebrate the release of The Winter Long, here. Have an open thread to discuss the book. Judging by the comments I'm seeing, some of you have had time, and I'd really, really rather book discussion (sometimes including spoilers) didn't crop up on other posts.

THERE WILL BE SPOILERS.

Seriously. If anyone comments here at all, THERE WILL BE SPOILERS. So please don't read and then yell at me because you encountered spoilers. You were warned. (I will not reply to every comment; I call partial comment amnesty. But I may well join some of the discussion, or answer questions or whatnot.) I will be DELETING all comments containing spoilers which have been left on other posts. No one gets to spoil people here without a label.

You can also start a discussion at my website forums, with less need to be concerned that I will see everything you say! In case you wanted, you know, discussion free of authorial influence, since I always wind up getting involved in these things.

Have fun, and try not to bleed on the carpet.

Okay, wow so... it's not quite 6am, but I had to scream my love for this book. XD There was a lot of screaming and 'oh shit' moments peppered throughout this entire book, as well as a lot of immature snickering for Luidaeg and her comments about Tybalt and the no pants ... *grins*

But holy moly. I'm dying now over what /Amandine's/ lineage is. *grins* You are a tease, Seanan. I had a freak out over the cover and I made comments about Amandine.. and while the book wasn't about Amandine, it really boils down to her lineage, her family and what questions were raised in the questions you answered.

So August-- I had to laugh. Of course it's another month. "What will they do when they run out of months" indeed. But August! A half-sister that is a Dochas Sidhe and she went off towards Blind Michael's lands and where is she nooooow. How long ago was that, that she vanished? Simon. Boy Howdy, Simon. When he showed up-- and then kept on popping up, trying somewhat to be helpful, but not at the same time? Simon is confusing the hell out of me. D: But this is a goood thing.

Evening. Holy mother of sweet cheeses, I was not expecting that curveball. I wasn't expecting to her to A. Be alive, B. be Firstborn (and the Firstborn of Quentin's line!) and C. /Be the bitch that gave the knives to kill Luidaeg's children/. O.O Powerful, scary, ruthless... D: I'd love to have her locked away in the old road forever, but... she's Firstborn. I don't know if that will keep her down for long.

Oh and while we're speaking of Luideag... my roommate and I were actually discussing things that could go wrong in the book before we read it... and the Luidaeg getting hurt/killed was one of them and then wondered who or what could be strong enough to take her out was strong indeed. O.o Well, wasn't expecting that little prediction... *shakes head* I almost cried and hugged the book and couldn't imagine the series without her. I have the strong urge to re-read Rosemary and Rue now so that I could catch all the things that were said that I may have missed.

After all my babbling here-- Seanan, I absolutely loved it and am eagerly awaiting the next for all the questions that may be answered and those questions that will arise again. ^__^
I am a tease.

Act I is finally over.
Are there two acts? Three? Five? If it took eight books to get us to the end of act one, how many will there be total? You've sold the first ten, how many do you have planned?
What she said. Plus, more is more. More Toby. More Tybalt. More Luidaeg.

Please, Ma'am.

Some more?
Several.
I agree more IS more! Yay for several more books/acts!
