THE WINTER LONG open thread!

To celebrate the release of The Winter Long, here. Have an open thread to discuss the book. Judging by the comments I'm seeing, some of you have had time, and I'd really, really rather book discussion (sometimes including spoilers) didn't crop up on other posts.

THERE WILL BE SPOILERS.

Seriously. If anyone comments here at all, THERE WILL BE SPOILERS. So please don't read and then yell at me because you encountered spoilers. You were warned. (I will not reply to every comment; I call partial comment amnesty. But I may well join some of the discussion, or answer questions or whatnot.) I will be DELETING all comments containing spoilers which have been left on other posts. No one gets to spoil people here without a label.

You can also start a discussion at my website forums, with less need to be concerned that I will see everything you say! In case you wanted, you know, discussion free of authorial influence, since I always wind up getting involved in these things.

Have fun, and try not to bleed on the carpet.

I drove over to B&N yesterday morning. There was one copy ofThe Winter Long on the new f&sf shelf. I said "Mine!", hopefully under my breath, and pounced. Fortunately, there was nobody nearby to see me behaving like a great silly, and at my age. Seanan, you're a bad influence. I hope you're proud of yourself. ;)

I was going to wait until this morning to start reading, but I just couldn't. I devoured the book last night. Loved it, loved it, loved it. So many questions, so much to think about, and also, Toby and Tybalt *hearts*. And The Luidaeg. I think she's my favorite character.

I'm going to reread it now, hopefully more slowly, and then I'm going to start back at the beginning. I may even take notes. Or more likely I'll just get caught up in the story and forget everything else.

In short, thank you, Seanan, you are, as always, one hell of a fine writer.
