The Luidaeg and the key was awesome. Actually, everything involving the Luidaeg was awesome. It's such fun when she comes off the bench. ...Oh, hey, it's been more than a year since One Salt Sea. *rubs hands with glee*
Look at Toby, leveling up. Can she learn to break a geas, or elf-shot? Hmm.

Until I find out otherwise, I'm assuming that the Luidaeg was saying, "I guarantee you have at least a year. After that, you will have to be ready to move when I snap my fingers."

The key seems to bolster one of my other wild guesses, that Toby is going to be involved in the hunt for the Lord and Ladies at some point. Confirmation that Maeve pays enough attention to her only remaining daughter, and has the power to aid her, is really exciting.
