THE WINTER LONG open thread!

To celebrate the release of The Winter Long, here. Have an open thread to discuss the book. Judging by the comments I'm seeing, some of you have had time, and I'd really, really rather book discussion (sometimes including spoilers) didn't crop up on other posts.

THERE WILL BE SPOILERS.

Seriously. If anyone comments here at all, THERE WILL BE SPOILERS. So please don't read and then yell at me because you encountered spoilers. You were warned. (I will not reply to every comment; I call partial comment amnesty. But I may well join some of the discussion, or answer questions or whatnot.) I will be DELETING all comments containing spoilers which have been left on other posts. No one gets to spoil people here without a label.

You can also start a discussion at my website forums, with less need to be concerned that I will see everything you say! In case you wanted, you know, discussion free of authorial influence, since I always wind up getting involved in these things.

Have fun, and try not to bleed on the carpet.

I loved this book SO MUCH, I am still kind of incoherent with it all.

I mean. First and foremost, the way this book completely shifts everything we thought we knew. It is so clearly the beginning of something much bigger. And I hadn't previously thought that the canvas of the storytelling was small. But suddenly it's a whole universe.

And omg. Toby and her abilities. The Luidaeg and her endless awesomeness. Amandine. The Winterrose. as;dlfkjasd;flkjasdf;lksajdf;lasdkjfa;sdlkfjsdalk

TYBALT my heart!!! God, he was written just for me (and, er, all the rest of y'all who love him this much -- I just mean, it feels as though he was written via a direct line to my id) and the end of the book send me into over-the-moon raptures of squee.

Like I said, still incoherent. But I love this universe beyond the telling. And its characters. And I completely trust that we are in the best of hands -- that Seanan knows exactly where all of this is going, and is somehow keeping track of these zillion threads in the weave, and is going to carry us exactly where she wants us to go.

(ETA: for those who are not Seanan and therefore might enjoy reading fic, I've written a wee something set immediately after the book: They sought the remedy.)
Aw, neat! I like it! :)
Yay, I am so glad you enjoyed! ♥
