Plan your next trip with LAFFERTY AIR!

Nothing says "big American holiday" like planning a trip to a city you've never seen before, right? And what better way to start your trip planning than with a pair of travel guides showing two famous American cities from a...different...point of view?

I'm giving away two signed Mur Lafferty books: The Shambling Guide to New York City and Ghost Train to New Orleans. These fun, fascinating, unique urban fantasies follow the adventures of a travel guide publishing house for, well, monsters.

Yes.

One part urban fantasy awesome, one part Travel Channel enthralling, and all Mur Lafferty snark, these books make me happy. And now they can make you happy! (Although they could also make you happy if you bought them, so remember, all books are available through other means.) To enter...

1. Leave a comment on this post.
2. Name a city you've always wanted to see.
3. Identify your country of origin.

That's it! The winner will be chosen from qualifying entries via RNG on Thursday, July 10th, so you have a week.

Game on!

I've actually always wanted to go to New Orleans. Spring Break my senior year of college was supposed to be a trip down with my four closest friends (or whoever would go). I wanted to see the mansions and do the ghost tours more than all the drinking (though I wasn't going to turn down a drink or two). That was supposed to be spring 2006. If other things hadn't gotten in my way (short version: leaving college early for being too on top of things), we might have gone done and volunteered for cleanup. But I still haven't been. One of these days, I will. I live in the US. Happy Fourth, everyone else from my country! Everyone else - happy Friday (or Saturday)!
I'm such a nature girl, I tend to think of cities as sidelines. That being said, I'd like to visit Denmark someday, so I'll say Copenhagen.
Ooh! Exciting! I've always wanted to visit Venice. And I'm from the United States. :) Have a great 4th!
I'd love to visit Jerusalem and I'm in the US of A.
I would love to go to London. I've always been jealous of all the history in Europe, and London seems like a good spot to use as a launching ground for my hypothetical adventure!

Commenting from Canada.
A city I've always wanted to see? London. :)

My country of origin: the US.
I love your Velveteens.

New Orleans

USA
I've been to New York and I wouldn't mind going back if just to wander the streets singing the songs of my ancestors.
I've been to New Orleans, and desperately want to go back.
As far as cities I've always wanted to see but never have... um.... hmm. I've done a lot of the major European ones at one point or another, but want to go back someday.
As for places I've never been at all: Berlin. Tokyo. Moscow. Melbourne. Hong Kong.

I come from America... but sometimes I claim I'm Canadian just to avoid awkward, pitying looks from the rest of the world.
1/ A comment!

2/ City I'd love to visit: London!! (and as we're going to Worldcon this year, this will be finally fulfilled.

3/ Australia, happy to pay postage
Ever since I started bellydancing, I've wanted to see Marrakech, Morocco. I'm in the US.
Jorvik! (Oh fine, York.)

I live in the US.
I'm from the US, and I've always wanted to go to New York. I just haven't managed to get there yet.
Oddly enough, York, England. That's at least the first thing that comes to mind.

And I'm USian (yes, I know, but I like writing it better than American!)

Thanks, Seanan!

Think I'm going to have to pick up those books - I live in New Orleans (originally from Los Angeles, CA) and a travel guide for monsters to NOLA sounds like too much fun.

What city would I like to visit? Pompeii.
#1: comment..... comment
#2: In the US - the entire area around the Kennedy Space Center. Overseas - Christchurch NZ, because that means I would have made it to New Zealand.
#3: USA
1 ) So this is my comment. See how comment-like it is?

2) I've never been out of the country, and I think I'd like to see Cardiff (Caerdydd) as it would probably be the first stop on a tour of Wales.

3) I live in the U.S.

:)
Oooh yes.

Choosing just one city I've always wanted to see seems... difficult but I have narrowed it down to Pompeii. Because dude, cool.

I originate from the USA!
New Orleans for the US, and Dublin, Cairo, and Edinburgh as my first foreign choices.

US Resident
What an awesome giveaway! I'll definitely purchase those books as well. :)

I've always wanted to see Glasgow.

I'm from the US.
1. Comment!
2. Hmm. USA-wise I think it'd have to be San Francisco - technically I have been there but I was very young and don't remember it, so I think it counts.

Hi there! :)

I have always wanted to see Prague and tour its street to soak in its history. But if you want a city in the United States, I've also wanted to see Phoenix. The desert would be such a change of scenery!

I hail from the United States.
