"The Day the Dead Came to Show and Tell," coming soon to a classroom near you.

I am pleased to confirm that my novella (as Mira Grant) "The Day the Dead Came to Show and Tell," will be available for purchase on July 15th, 2014. So you can get ready for the Rising in style, with this all-new adventure in the world of Newsflesh.

Purchase details are here. Because Amazon is still not playing nicely with Hachette, there is no pre-order button on the Amazon website, which means the story is not at this time available for Kindle. I honestly don't know if that's going to change: I wish I did, I assume it is, but I cannot confirm. Also, I recommend against reading the summary, as it reveals some of the surprises the novella might otherwise contain for you.

I am so excited to finally tell this story. It's been lurking for a long time, and it's time the truth of what happened at Evergreen Elementary finally comes out. (This is a zombie story set in an elementary school. So, uh, yeah.)

When will you rise?

WHOOT!
Glee.
HUrrah for more Newsflesh!
I am pleased.
And again, it's coming out right around my birthday. You are the best!

But the title makes me picture the image here (scroll down to Jason Chan) where kids are on a play structure, staging a last stand against zombie kids.
It's coming out ON my birthday! Hooray authorial birthday presents of zombies and blood!

Is this going to be available on Barnes & Noble? I went to pre-order for my Nook, but I didn't see it.

I always pre-order your books when you announce them so I can't miss them. This has led to me having multiple copies because I forget I pre-ordered and buy it on the day, but that's OK. The more ammunition to convert people to your books. "Here. Take this. You need to read it!"
I honestly never know, with the Orbit short fiction pieces. Any questions about availability need to be directed at them.
Hachette is falling down on the job here. It's not just Amazon without pre-order buttons; not one of the sites Hachette links to for ebooks returns results for 'The Day the Dead Came to Show and Tell'. I've googled all over, trying to find a place to pre-order it, and have so far come up with squat. Has anyone else had any luck? I want to buy!
I couldn't find it either.

Argh! I wish we could afford to fly you down for Conjecture this year - our theme is "Life, Death, and Beyond". You'd fit in SO WELL. Sigh.
I wish so too, except for where I want to sleep, so I'm kinda glad you don't!
Yay! More Newsflesh! And two days before my birthday! Happy creepy early birthday to me!!

*runs off to look for a Nook preorder*
Glee.
Kobo ebooks has it on pre-order!
And YAY! for more zombies!

((gleefully jumping up and down))
Yay zombies!
Yay! I like the graphic a it, too!
Me, too.
Oh, excellent.

As someone who works with small children I am delighted they get to have zombies at school. Also this comes out right before I leave for San Diego so yay something to read on the plane! Because reading more about the Rising right before SDCC 2014 is THE BEST PLAN. Yes.
Oh, absolutely. The BEST plan.
*deep breath* EEEEEEE! Best (almost) birthday present ever!
Happy birthday!
*joyful vibrating*
Hee.
Yay!
Glee.
*clapclapclapclapclap*

YAY!! This looks amazing--love the cover! Who's responsible for putting that together?
I'm not sure. It's usually Lauren, but sometimes the eBooks get assigned to other graphic designers.
It's a zombie APPLE! You heinous woman, is there anything you won't zombify?
Nope.
This makes me unbelievably giddy! I shall consume all of the stories you write in this universe. :)
Hooray!
I will rise ... in time to buy this new novella!
YAY!
Yay! :-)
Glee.
Can't wait!
Me, neither.
Very excited.
So am I.
THIS IS EVERYTHING GOOD ABOUT THE WORLD.
I am excite!
Seanan, this book broke my heart. Not to mention the reveal about midway through. Sheesh, woman!

(All of this is praise, you understand.)
