So it's no secret that I love the covers DAW gives me, and that showing them off is one of my true pure joys in life. Chris McGrath has been designing Toby covers for eight books now, and he's amazing. Like, seriously amazing. Want proof?

OH MY GOD YOU GUYS OH MY GOD IT'S THE COVER TO THE WINTER LONG AND IT'S GORGEOUS!

Toby is badass and there's blood everywhere and she's painting the roses red with bleeding and she looks like she's about to cut somebody and and and I'M SO HAPPY!!!!

Both Chris and Aly make your characters look strong, confident and sexy. Which they are, of course, but it's great to see fantasy novels with cover pictures which are as beautiful as this and not falling back on tired sexist clichés.

You do put poor Toby through the wringer a bit though, don't you. :)
