So it's no secret that I love the covers DAW gives me, and that showing them off is one of my true pure joys in life. Chris McGrath has been designing Toby covers for eight books now, and he's amazing. Like, seriously amazing. Want proof?

OH MY GOD YOU GUYS OH MY GOD IT'S THE COVER TO THE WINTER LONG AND IT'S GORGEOUS!

Toby is badass and there's blood everywhere and she's painting the roses red with bleeding and she looks like she's about to cut somebody and and and I'M SO HAPPY!!!!

What do you think?

Its lovely, and I do adore how your book covers have taste and actually show content..

Chris McGrath has always given Toby incredibly tasteful and considerate covers. It's amazing. (I love Aly's covers just as much, mind you, and they're just as much exactly what I asked for; different worlds.)

Me, too.

This was possibly the pickiest we've ever been about colors/symbols/composition, and it came out absolutely amazingly.

I feel like this is an accurate depiction of every one of Toby's shirts ever, except maybe the black ones that hide blood a little better.

Can't wait for this.

Oh, wow, look at her FACE. I mean, that's Toby, it's the same person as on the earlier books, but that is a face that has been through a whole lot of experience.

Wow. I love all the covers to Toby's books (only slightly less than I love their contents), but this one definitely has an impact I haven't seen yet. Looking from the top down, I was just like: Winter, check, nice arch, Toby looking dangerous/needing coffee, check, red shirt, rose, wait HOLD UP - scratch that, bloody white shirt, blood dripping on white roses - oh. Oh. OH. Dang. Something serious is going down here (par for the course for Toby, right?). I didn't even notice the knife until I saw a comment about it, but it looks like a fang. Anyway, very cool!

Also, I cannot express how excited I am that this comes out on my birthday. BEST. BIRTHDAY. PRESENT. EVER. And a fitting tribute to the birthday unending, I think!
