Forty-nine days to our ghost story.

Yesterday, with very little fanfare, we slipped under fifty days to the release of Sparrow Hill Road. In forty-nine days precisely—seven weeks, seven short, short weeks—Rose will be on store shelves, and everyone who missed her first road trip will have the opportunity to take it in a whole new way.

I am excited.

I am delighted.

I am terrified.

Rose is one of my favorite people. She's my pretty little dead girl and the spirit of Sparrow Hill Road; she's the girl in the diner and the girl in the green silk gown. She's a story about stories, and I am both beyond ecstatic that she's about to meet her wider audience, and incredibly nervous about the whole thing.

Let me tell you about Rose Marshall.

I promise she won't bite.

Thank you for the reminder! Just placed my pre-order with the Book Depository. :D
Yay!
I am very much looking forward to knowing more about Rose Marshall after reading The Ghosts of Bourbon Street (which I haven't thanked you for, but it came on a particularly bad day and I read it while hiding in a bathroom stall at work and it made my day considerably better, so THANK YOU).
I am so glad!

Yay!
I pre-ordered it at the same time I pre-ordered Half-Off Ragnarok :-)
(And I just pre-ordered The Winter Long.)

I'm fascinated by the concept of the road ghost - the Phantom Hitchhiker who vanishes, or the "psychopomp" version who takes the souls of those who are about to die in a crash, or any of the other versions. I think I've told you once before about an old country-and-western trucker's song called "Phantom 309", in which the ghost is male. My father was a truck driver, and I know there were many other stories of things that happened on the road that simply defied rational explanations.

So I'm going to be very happy to get to know Rose and her friends a little better!

That is fantastic. :)
So excited to read it! I won an ARC on Saturday, but I'm not letting myself touch it till after finals are over (otherwise I'd pick it up and not surface till I was done). I'll still be buying a regular copy at the Borderlands party, like usual ^_^

Also my mom was both thrilled and terrified by your answer to the 'can cuckoos hybridize' question she asked me to ask. :3
Hee hee hee yay.
Hee! *dances* I feel like Rose is the character I've heard the most about, but actually know the least about. Can't wait to meet her!!

(I know there have been shorts and the like, but I don't really follow them, so meeting her in her official capacity is pretty exciting.)
I am so glad everyone gets to meet her soon!
I loved her in the new short story, I can't wait to hear more!
Yay!
Kindle copy on preorder, which *should* mean I can start it on my commute to work May 6th. The futuretech we've got isn't the futuretech I expected before-the-fact, but I love the wonders of the future anyway.
Agree.
Just camping on here to say Hi and congratulations.

Life has gotten weird for me so I am not commenting much but I am still following you and admiring all your work. Looking forward to seeing you at WorldCon.
I will see you there!
I can't wait!
Yay!

Squee! That's fabulous, thank you.
I liked the 'sorta-kinda' cameo in the latest Incrypted book. *lol* She and Verity party together? Sweet!
They do indeed!
And a few days after that, Rose will be on my bookshelf! Because I got smart and preordered the book from B&N! Squeeee!
Hooray!
I can't wait to own this! Looking forward muchly to more of Rose
I am so glad.

Hooray!
I love what I know about Rose...and I'm really looking forward to getting to know her better. So excited. :) xo
YAY.
I've had this on preorder forever, but after reading The Ghosts of Bourbon Street I am EVEN MORE EXCITED. Can't wait to see Rose in her own book! (Missed the Sparrow Hill stories previously, so it'll all be new to me.)

...also no, phone, I really do mean Rose, not arose. *smacks autocorrect with a wet noodle*
I am SO EXCITED I can't even.
Congrats! I keep thinking that published authors will eventually stop feeling nervous about sending their babies out into the world. I see that I'm wrong. Now, off to catch up on some short stories!
Nope. People just get less patient with us being anxious.
Oh I'm looking forward to that! I was so delighted when she was mentioned in Half-Off Ragnarok <3
Hooray!

Sweetheart, people will *love* your Rose Marshall. *I* love Rose Marshall. Her stories are moving, funny, terrifying, utterly other and utterly here-and-now, and it's a beautiful and awe-inspiring thing that you've done to bring her tales together. *Hugs*.

Talis Kimberley
Thank you, darling. You are more reassuring than a month of Saturdays.

<3
Thanks for the reminder to preorder! I also just finished Bourbon Street and I can't wait to read about Rose!
Yay!
Ooh, preordered for teh Kindles. I've already read them all in the online version, but very much want to share them with my wife. Also? Gorgeous cover!
I know, right? Aly just gets better and better.
Very much looking forward to Sparrow Hill Road!! I enjoyed Rose's first stories lo these many moons ago, and expect to only enjoy them that much more, now. Especially knowing she is part of a larger 'verse that we're already exploring.

Happily counting down the days!
Hooray!
Rose is my absolute favourite of your characters, and she's almost single-handedly the reason I found you in the first place. You becoming my favourite *author* shortly thereafter was a group effort between her, Vel, George, and Istas, but that's beside the point. :)

All this to say that I am the most excited I've ever been for a book release. And it's exactly timed for my birthday, which seems like some kind of cosmic blessing. THANK YOU so much for being who you are and doing what you do.
I love Rose so hard. I am so glad other people love her too.

Happy early birthday. :)
I'm really looking forward to reading Rose's stories (plus one new one to make 13) in book form and have ever since I first discovered you and by extension Rose on the Edge of Propinquity (I think I spelled that right). I also love the live version of her song, too.
Yay!

I love Rose in all her forms. I think you'll be surprised by some of what's ahead.
