So a yeti, some singing mice, and Ace Lightning walk into a bar...
Sonnet: Encrypted Incryptids
Just how well do you think you know your friends?
Do you assume they're human through and through?
What will you do when that assumption ends -
When some of them are not? What will you do?
The mask will slip one day, and you will see
That one of them is not of human kind;
Will you stay calm, or will you turn and flee,
While wondering how you could have been so blind?
This monster's the same person that you knew
Before you saw the claws, the snakes, the scales;
It shouldn't make much difference to you
That "people" sometimes come with fangs or tails.
We're just as sentient as you, my dear,
And just as capable of love, I fear.
