1. If you want to send me a private message, please, please use my website contact form rather than using LJ or Facebook messenger services. I have trouble replying within those forms, which often translates to "I won't reply within those forms." (I don't have a no-reply policy for LJ, but I do for Facebook.) My website contact form goes to my PA, who answers really simple questions like "where can I buy this?" and forwards everything else along to me. I answer as quickly as I can.
2. This LJ has an open friend/unfriend policy. Yes, it makes me sad when people I know IRL unfriend me, because I am a human being living in a human world, but I won't hunt you down with torches and pitchforks to demand to know why. At the same time, if you remove me from your friend list, I will remove you. Please don't unfriend me and then get mad when I do the same to you.
3. And while I'm asking for unreasonable things, please wait until I get the official Parasite discussion post up to start commenting about the book. I want to keep the various threads safe for the spoiler-averse for as long as possible.
And now I nap.

...er, no. And even a broader search did not uncover it.
(This is kind of theoretical on my part - when I buy DRM'd ebooks, I actually get them through B&N, because if I'm supporting a model I'm dubious about* I at least would prefer to support the non market leader. And I have. But I use Amazon to keep track of things like release dates, and to buy a ridiculous amount of non-book things.)
* but a lifestyle I love, oh, I'm so conflicted.

Amazon's search thing can be weird.
(I got my e-copy from Kobo; alas physical space to store books in is not cheap)

AMAZON SHIPPED THAT SUCKER, ALONG WITH THE NEWSFLESH TRILOGY BOXED SET THIS MORNING.
Good ghod, I've been impatient about that. :-)

This post was enough to remind me to stop by Barnes and Noble on the way home from work today. I was surprised to find that this one's a hardcover, but that just made it feel more special when I bought it.
Conversation with the guy behind the register:
register guy: is this fiction?
me: yep.
him: It looks like something by Michael Crichton.
me: [pauses to consider] Well... it's kind of like that. Science fiction, medical stuff...
Now, for the hard part: pacing myself with the reading so that it doesn't interfere with the other stuff I need to get done. (When it comes to your books, this whole reading it in small pieces thing never seems to go as planned...)

Yes, I shall actually spend my own money on a book. That happens so rarely these days. :)

That happened before (no notices), and I can't seem to fix the setting, to add insult to vexation. But I've got it now. Website contact form = the best way to send personal letters, which will get handled and directed to you as needed. I am all for efficient systems, filters, and not being overwhelmed by email and communications. :)
So I do apologize.
Also, I jumped the gun on commenting about _Parasite_. I will be more careful in the future to make sure my brain is both on and enabled before using the keyboard. I really don't want to spoil anything for people inadvertently.

Let me just say to everyone this: "You won't be disappointed."

1: you've seen http://wtfevolution.tumblr.com/ right? You must have.
2: I'm dressing as Carlos from Night Vale for Halloween and carrying a baby glow cloud around with me. If anyone complains about my hair I'm going to tell them to take it up with Telly the Barber. :)

Question about asking questions. Recursiveness!

Am suppressing commentary about new book. This is not easy. I will say that your skill as an author is clearly progressing, which is great.
