There is a price to pay. There is always a price to pay. INDEXING, episode #12, is now live!

Once upon a time, I began a story. Today, with the twelfth episode of Indexing, I complete it. Episode twelve, "Bad Apple," is ready for you to enjoy.

This post serves as both your reminder and discussion thread. Reminder that this is your last chance to get the whole serial at the special Kindle Serials price; the cost will be going up by $1.00 in the very near future.

Now rest, my dear, and be at ease; there’s a fire in the hearth and a wind in the eaves, and the night is so dark, and the dark is so deep, and it’s time that all good little stars go to sleep.

Here I am, two months after the close of Indexing, and I still don't feel like I have words to describe how much I love the story, and even more, the characters.

I'm a huge fan of fucked-up fairy tales and stories about "found" family. With Leverage cancelled, this was like a straight up shot of brain crack, even before I got to know the characters.

I loved them all. I loved that this group of outsiders refused to let anything (narrative and monomyth be damned) dictate who they were going to be. My heart broke for them and the choices they didn't get to make, and they way they forged themselves out of the shards. I don't think I need to mention how awesome the level of diversity was, because I know you get it. Wonderful, well-rounded people, whose race, gender and sexuality was part of them, but not the only thing that defined them.

And at the core, (heh, core) of the decidedly unpoisoned apple, the two women I wish I could be. Henry, strong and good, willing to risk the snowbound wood for her people. Smart, and flawed, and so alone for so long. And Sloane. Strong and wicked and angry. Frozen in time, always riding the razors edge between good, and...not good. Alone, and watched. And yet, like Henry, never truly alone.

*sigh* Okay, I think I'm done now. So, yes. Thank you.

You are so very, truly welcome.
