Ten things make a list, and I like lists. Hark, a list!

10. For some reason, people have been sending me Livejournal messages a lot recently. You are totally welcome to do this, but please be aware that I may take months to answer, even years, as they are a lower priority than messages which come in through my website contact form. If you want to contact me for any reason, your best channel is my website, which has a lovely and easy-to-use contact form. These emails go to my PA, who answers some questions herself and forwards the rest on to me. Where they appear in my inbox, impossible to ignore. Where they get answered.

9. Seriously, just use the contact form. I don't really answer messages received through any other channel in any sort of a reasonable time (and I don't answer Facebook messages at all).

8. I am making cioppino tomorrow night! I am so excited about that! Except...

7. ...I'm making it for me and Olivia to eat while we watch "The Quarterback" and cry. I know Glee is a frequently terrible show, but I am genuinely saddened by Cory's death, and this is going to be emotionally devastating.

6. The tip jar is remaining open until tomorrow morning, largely because I forgot to post this reminder yesterday. Thanks to everyone who's chipped in so far, and to everyone who hasn't, too, because sometimes life says "not this time." Y'all are awesome.

5. So awesome, in fact, that I am compelled to make sure you've seen the incredible videos on SymboGen.net. Seriously, this is some of the best marketing ever, and it's for my book. I am overcome with squee.

4. The field of Alice's fucks lies fallow, and I support this.

3. Carrie: The Musical is really fantastic. If you're in the Bay Area, I recommend the Ray of Light production, now playing in San Francisco. If you're not, look around; there are a lot of productions going right now, due to the rights opening up.

2. Zombies are love.

1. HAPPY OCTOBER HALLOWEEN IS COMING.

6. Done! Meep! I almost forgot the tip jar. I hope it did well!
5. Watching now.

*huggle* Happy Whatever day it is.
Happy Wednesday!
I love those SymboGen advertisements. I am anxiously waiting for the end of the month to get here.
Me, too.
It seems that I can't watch the SymboGen videos. i imagine it's because of territorial restrictions. (I live in NZ). However, I've preordered Parasite from the Book Depository, and I'm really looking forward to reading it!
Sad. :( I'm sorry.
I stopped watching Glee a while ago but I'm truly saddened by Cory's death. Such a tragedy. (True fact: last week I started crying on the treadmill when a glee song came on my ipod and I thought of Cory. He was my age, and far too young to die.) I totally plan to get a box of tissues and watch The Quarterback while I sob straight through it.

Good luck with the cioppino! I hope it turns out well.
I am sure it will. I wish you could come join us!
5: OMG-ponies! This is wonderful! I am full of squeee about it and lurve it tons.
Glee!
3. Carrie: The Musical is really fantastic. If you're in the Bay Area, I recommend the Ray of Light production, now playing in San Francisco. If you're not, look around; there are a lot of productions going right now, due to the rights opening up.

I saw a poster for that and convinced myself I dreamed it! This is real thing, for serious??!?!

And yes, zombies are love. <3
The real thing!

SO GOOD.
Happy October, best month of all months! I'm celebrating my birthday this weekend in the traditional way: horror movies, cupcakes, and those mallowcreme pumpkins (best candy ever)! Because being born on the 13th of October sort of guaranteed I'd be obsessed with everything spooky/Halloween and the REAL party is gonna be Halloween when I roll out the Dr. Abbey costume.

Also, preordered Parasite and I CANNOT WAIT. ^_^
Squeeeee.

7. I'm going to my mother's place tomorrow to watch The Quarterback and sob piteously. (Part of me is hoping they open with "Seasons of Love" on the bare stage, both as a nod to RENT and because so many of their best numbers have taken place there; the rest of me is wondering what they might do if they chose to actually stage it.)

I hope your cioppino (which Firefox refuses to believe is a real word) is marvelous.
I am hoping the same, except for sobbing.
Glad the tip jar is still open! I almost missed an extra chance . "Support Your Local Wizard." Oh, wait, I mean "author," but then, aren't they much the same thing?
Support the creative Arts, of all sorts, and they will support you...

[Quote is from Diane Duane's "Young Wizardry" series, of which I still own the very battered paperback first novel, ordered from my elementary school's Scholastic Book Club.]

...Hey, has anyone started a favorite line/quotation thread on Indexing before, or have I missed it? I'll go see if I can start one with a post a little later tonight...

Mack
No one has started one.
A hug for you while watching The Quarterback. We'll get it late down here (Australia), and I'm kind of dreading it because it will be sad.
SO SAD.
It's October! Kitties and pumpkins!
It's a Toy!
Glow Bite
BEST MONTH IS BEST.
I think I have vicarious Halloween delighted anticipation. I keep smiling whenever somebody points out that Halloween is coming soon, because it makes me think of you being so happy.
Aw.

<3
Oh, symbogen.net is very slick indeed, thanks for the link!

I love what they're doing with the in-world Twitter feed (@SymboGenCorp) as well. Just enough plugs for the book so that everyone knows what's going on, but it's mostly content, not ads.

Nicely done, Orbit Books.
They're really knocking it out of the park with this one.
So I read the interviews you pointed out recently, and two things surprised me.

1. You still have a day job.

Your grandest self, your self inspired by the gods, lives when you write. Is it the best use of your talents for you to do something else eight hours a day? I ask this in complete ignorance of whatever it is you do. If it's brain surgery, perhaps I am mistaken.

(If you need a day job for the health insurance, I hope you've checked out Obamacare. I have become a pimp for Obamacare; it will reduce my family's premiums by $14,000 and give us vastly better coverage.)

2. You listen to music while writing.

Is this instrumental music? I can't imagine writing with words coming in my ears. Too much interference. "The words go in, the words go out, the words play pinochle..."

Of course you do what works for you. My surprise is a symptom of my inability to imagine how unlike me other people are.

As always, you have comment amnesty on my comments.
So many of us are hoping that come January, Obamacare options will mean that she will no longer need the day job for the health insurance. The decreased stress will certainly help her health, and then yay more books for us!

SO freaking excited for Parasite!!!!!! Seriously, these sorts of books make me so happy, it's like you look inside my head and go 'oh, so that's the sort of creepy-sciency-horror that Kerri likes'. :P

Wheeeee.
Yay!
Had to mention that I'm finally reading my ARC of Parasite- it's actually the first Mira Grant title of yours that I've read (although I'm only like... halfway through maybe?) LOVE IT. Love it like Cookie Monster loves cookies. Can't wait to finish and post my review on my blog! Would the contact form be the best way to also relay my review post to you (and/or your lovely PA?) Wish I didn't have to work and could swaddle myself in a warm cocoon (with maybe a nice low drumbeat in the background) and just read all day long!
You can send links to reviews through the contact form, although I ask that you don't if it's negative, since I feel obligated to reply to those emails.

I'm going to have to miss Glee tonight because I lost the dice roll (stupid d10s. Why do you bail on me when it is something IMPORTANT?). :( However, we have a local guy in the running on Project Runway, so it isn't a total loss. I'll just have my sob fest later.

Good luck with the cioppino! That one of those dishes I adore but have never made, because it intimidates the living daylights out of me.

Happy October!
Happy October!

And come over, we're having stew. :)
i had never heard of cioppino before! Luckily, Google knows everything.

It looks delicious and made of treyf. :D
You can actually make a completely kosher cioppino, although we'd have to figure out what to substitute for the clam juice.

FEBRUARY PROJECT.
