With only one episode left to go, things are moving faster than ever. Episode eleven, "Scarlet Flowers," is ready for you to enjoy.
This post serves as both your reminder and discussion thread. In addition, there is one episode remaining (in two weeks), so now's the time to hop on board: remember that a purchase now saves you a dollar. Not too shabby! (Please do not comment to complain about Indexing not being available in your region. I am so very sorry that it isn't everywhere, but I have no power over that. You'll only make me sad.)
Once upon a time...

Also, I really, really love Sloane. I like all the characters in this story, but she's far and away my favorite.

(Mind, where else could you get full-on magic if not surrounding a building full of full-on magic types...)
So why isn't it hitting Sloane...
(I think this is one of the few times I've hit the discussion thread and the chapter at the same time. *facepalm*)

In the midst of trying to plan a cross country move to the Bay area, with 900lbs of panic and fear, this is a bright spot of momentary ease.
Thank you! And more kudos for Gerry and more YAYSLOANE!
I would be more coherent, but my braincells are limited and tasked with planning and fretting abt Making This Work. :)
Thanks again!

So I think the main question is, Will Sloane straight up murder the Sleeping Beauty? I'd be seriously considering it in her place. She's alone, the Bureau itself has been compromised, who knows how many agents may have been outside the field of effect that she could reach, etc. Will she try for what seems like the quickest and most certain solution? I think the only thing that will hold her back is the idea that, if she starts killing people, she may not be able to stop.

There is one thing that troubles me, though. Is that what you really think of conservatives, that they're automatically childbeating bigots? That's how it came across to me. Am I just reading too much into that part? It brought me back to Governor Tate from Feed. He came across as if he was going to put a hood on and burn a cross at any moment. I had passed him off as a typical over-the-top villain stereotype, but now I can't help but wonder. I would appreciate hearing any thoughts you have on it.
Thanks again!

I'll note that in Feed, Ryman is a fiscal conservative and socially neutral in the way of true small government: what you do in your own home is between you, your parents, and your God, and if he regulates it, he's expanding the size of the government unnecessarily. Tate is also actually fairly socially liberal, because of his time, and is intentionally playing certain things up "for the camera" because he wants people to buy the stereotype.
I do think that shitty people exist on all sides of the political spectrum. In this case, it was someone who hated unnatural things, and was socially and fictionally (as in, opposed to fictional things) conservative. For him, Gerry was a deviation too far.
I do have positive conservatives in my work, and I don't think I've had any really "oh man wow this person is best because they're liberal BEST" characters. I am extremely socially liberal and fiscally conservative myself, if that helps you see where I stand.

Also, the team breakfast pretty much made my day.
And the ending of this chapter! aaaaaaaaaa! *cue gnashing of teeth*
Can't wait to read more. This whole series has been a delightful rollercoaster.

Thank you for showing him not just as normal but fighting daily for his normalcy, and having valid terrors about how the narrative could disproportionately fuck with that.
And for neither making him hypersexual or asexual and oh my GOD Sloane, a janitor's closet? Of course a janitor's closet.
Re cliffhanger, GO SLOANE GO SLOANE GO SLOANE GO SLOANE GOOOOOOOOOOOO

In other words, I am super happy and excited and love the story.
And I've no idea how you can wrap it up in just one more installment, but when the day comes, I'll find out! :)
