Who do you want to see more of?

The Newsflesh universe is a pretty big place. If I continue writing novellas set there, who would you like to see take the starring role? NOTE: Shaun and Georgia are not eligible. Writing them in will just annoy me, and actually make it less likely that I'll ever write about them again. They're having their vacation. Leave them alone. But there are a lot of other options.

Game on!

Poll #1936970 Who should it be?

What character should the next novella focus on?

I'd really love to see more of Maggie. :)
Seconding!

I had to restrain myself lest I tick ALL the ticky boxes because they would all make for such interesting stories. Looking forward to seeing what comes of this! :)
Dr. Abbey is in the lead, predictably!

I would have voted for Mahir but he just got one! Hell, he kind of has one-and-a-quarter. Spread the love, people.

Poor Dave has 0 votes so far. Dave, we hardly knew ya. No, really, that's the reason, sorry.
Dave got one of my votes because I love him far more than his limited "screen" time justifies. But Becks is who I would most love to see. *^^*

I was hard not to click everyone, so I just clicked half of them.
Hee, yeah, I thought it would be mean to click all of them, so I restrained myself.

P.
I'm not sure I could read a (presumably prequel) story about one of the characters who's no longer with us. Bit like watching the Titanic sail out of port. :-(
Yeah. That was actually the sad part of reading Countdown after reading the trilogy--you knew who was doomed and who was not.

I would love to know more about that Hawaiian virology lab. Or any virology lab, but especially that Hawaiian one. The science was my favorite part of Newsflesh!
YAY!

Ohhh, good point. I want to know more about what was happening between books 2-3.

I'd also love to see a Rick-focussed novella.

Actually I'd also be interested ina Joespeh Wyne/CDC focussed novella. THEY probably thought they were doing the right thing.

Thanks for asking us! (and as my "other" I am hoping for Nandini Gowda, if only as a window into "Meanwhile, over in England...")

I am intrigued by the idea of reading from the viewpoint of one of the Mason parents. They sort of feel to me like a different type of zombie ("Raaaaa-tings....") and I'd like to see them...maybe trying not to be like that?
I am definitely interested in something from the viewpoint of the Mason parents and what they perceived they were doing. We know how the kids feel about it, but I suspect they saw their actions very differently.
Maggie! Maggie with her grindhouse parties and her security ninjas and her awful track record at telling people she loves them.

I don't know if that's allowed, but I'd love to see more from the POV of bystander characters. I am always interested in non-clued in people observe the action that actually takes places. Plus, I can never see enough of "dealing with zombies" minutia.

I'd like to see what life is like for people who can't afford gated and guarded houses in the suburbs, particularly something about the agricultural/manufacturing sector.
I went for Dr. Abbey, Foxy and Alaric and Alisa Kwong, because I cannot resist the ticky boxes and if I had to narrow it down, that was as far as I could get (actually, Nandini Gowda's point of view would be lovely, as would the secret diary of a security ninja). Frankly, I'm going to be thrilled with whatever you write on whatever subject, up to and including your shopping list :P (cat food, diet Dr Pepper, that last bit for the death ray, bleach, a new biohazard suit and bulk boxes of rubber gloves and petri dishes?)
Also Maggie, Rick, and all the characters from How Green This Land.
omg yes. I loved everyone in How Green This Land, would love to see more from them!
Doctors Abbey or Shaw, or Buffy .
Maggie Maggie Maggie~ (actually, i dunno if there's an entire story there, but a Maggie/Buffy drabble or flashfic would be awesome)

also, of course, Dr Abbey (perhaps with the other doctors, Dr Shaw is nice, but Dr Kimberley! Lady Doctors!!)

and Indigo, She seemed like there was a story going on there.

Or, you know, anyone else.

This is like when Shaenon asked me what I wanted drawn in my skinhorse books, and my brain was like "you didnt think this through, you have to PICK now. you can't just send a billion ideas, she'll think you're crazy!"
Oh oh! I forgot about Indigo Blue! That was a fascinating bit where she met Shawn and Georgia. Would love to know her background of working with the Mason's and what made her drop off the grid.

Really any of the "off the grid" types would make an interesting story.
I kind of want to see the After the End Times crew come across a crazy author living in the middle of nowhere writing books about faeries and talking to her cats.

What? Stephen King and Stan Lee did it.
With machetes...
I'd love to see one about Dr Shoji, as well as Dr Abbey and Dr Shaw and their secret virology network.
Me, too!
The octopus doctor, whose name I can't recall. And Maggie.
I think I am going to be the only one to say this, but I would prefer you to give other worlds more time :). However if you ave a story you want to write that is another thing...
Buffy and Rebecca. The only reason that they are not my favorite characters in the Newsflesh universe is this: Georgia and Shaun are my favorites already. :)
Indigo Blue would be really interesting reading based on the hints of backstory that we got.
Indigo Blue
I'd love to read more about Maggie. :)
