I said I'd do it, and so...

I am now taking "tip jar" donations to fund the next InCryptid story or stories. To tip, please PayPal to...

delirium@xocolatl.com

I will leave the tip jar open until next Wednesday, the 9th, when I will close it and post a total for what was collected.

If I get $200, I will prioritize finishing and posting "We Both Go Down Together," aka, "Alice actually arrives."
If I get $300 or more, I will add "Ghosts of Bourbon Street" to the inchworm list, which means it gets scheduled and everything.

"We Both Go Down Together" will be posted this year even if no one tips me a penny; I'm not holding anything finished hostage, just trying to justify shuffling things around.

Thank you!

Just curious, why does your paypal say Shannon? Legal name with alternate spelling?

Oh and a reminder to peeps, if you do send, make sure to select sending money to family or friends so Seanan might avoid some fees!
Long fucking story that I do not have the spoons to go into.

Thank you very much for tipping.
*empties piggy bank*
Contribution sent! I was serious last time when I said we'd add a line to our budget for you. :)
Best Brian is best.
heh, paypal told me you might reject the payment because it's not your native currency. Um, I thought it would automatically translate it to USD on arrival... O_o ::shrugs:: Money is money, right?
No, it came through just fine. Thank you!
And tipped! Thanks for all you do and the joy you bring all your readers - both by your books and short stories and by the wonderful interaction you give to us here, where we feel more like extended family rather than strange intruders voyeuristically peeking in on an author's life and mind :) Well, maybe some of us feel both... You're awesome; keep it up!
Thank you!
Done.
Yaaay.
Thank you for the last Tybalt story too.
You are very welcome.
Tipped! Thanks for tweeting about it - I would have missed it otherwise.
Woot.

I don't always tweet about entries, but sometimes.
We just set up a Patron campaign to do the same thing, though that's a per creative unit ongoing type of thing. It looks like a really awesome system, if you'd like to look into it. Here's Poe's, it pretty much just went up yesterday: http://www.patron.com/MichaelPoe
This link doesn't take me anywhere useful...

Billy, you have sent $100.00 USD to Shannon McGuire.

Posted something recommending Patreon, if you'd like to check that out. It's a per creative unit fundraising took which would let people say, "I want to pay $x every time a new piece of story is posted" as well as letting you set goals the way you've just done. We started a page pretty much yesterday because we liked the way it made tracking everything so much easier. I linked it in the earlier version of this comment, but it got marked as spam. Dunno if you can still see it or not, but anyway it's a very easy system to use, and as someone who has managed donations for the last nine years, that's saying a lot.
I don't really do partial postings, and that would be a lot less like "buying a space on the list" and a lot more like "you are now working for these people." I'm not sure I could take it. :(
done and done!

I was curious, do you have any plans to offer some of your music for sale as digital downloads since it seems cdbaby is always out of the cds? I wanted to buy some more copies for some friends but alas, they are out, so I figured I'd ask. I did check around your previous faqs, so if I missed it and you answered already I am really sorry for bugging you with it again.
Not Seanan, but I believe your answer is 1.6 on her music FAQs here: http://seananmcguire.com/musicfaq.php

Donated what I could today. Is there any way to keep open donations for ONE more day since I get paid every 2 weeks and this is my off week. I'd love to throw a little more money at you then too.
I can do that.
Sent it with kitty pix so no one would mistake it for business.
CATS.
Five of my local currency sent. Hopefully it makes a meaningful number over there.
Thank you!

Yay! More InCryptid. ^_^
Yes!
Sent $20. Thank you for sharing your stories with us this way!
You are very welcome, and thank you!
Sent a couple of $$$. I enjoy your music and InCryptid series a little too much to not send a little money in.
Thank you.
Do you think that you will ever do a tip jar for a Tobyverse short story?
No.
Sent as "family and friends" in case you might get hit by fees. Note that I do not actually consider myself family or anything but friendly internet fan. O:>
Thank you!
Sent!

I haven't actually read the incrypit series (shakes fist at audible/Brilliance Audio for not making them available in Australia) so consider it a donation for whatever you want to do.
You are best.

Tip jar opening noted, logged, and responded to. Sent some funds your way, maybe more later if I can. No need to reply with thanks or anything (I know you'll see it), just keep writing as fast as your heart desires. But automatic thought-transcription like the book _God Emperor of Dune_ by Frank Herbert, when will we have it???

My favorite Decemberists lyric: "Had a dream/ You and me and the war at the end times..." -- Calamity Song. California, catastrophe, bouncy.

If the world was actually coming to an end, though, I would still want to be listening to R.E.M.'s "It's the End of the World as We Know It" as my personal doomsday song. I made two R.E.M. mix CDs recently from concerts. The first was titled "Songs for when the world ends." The second was called "After the Afterlife," because we would need something to do after the end-times...

Right. Clearly I need to stop rambling and go to bed now, so I can go to work in the morning.

Mack
My favorite Decemberists lyric is probably something from Hazards of Love. That is just an incredible piece of work, and I can't not listen to the whole thing any time I press play on a single song.
Fed the tip jar a couple of times. Bummed that Red Roses and Dead Things is out of print and not readily available - it's currently my Doing Science in Little Dark Rooms music, and I'd have liked to have a copy. Since I can't seem to find one, opted to feed the tip jar again.
Sadly, it is currently out of print, although some filk dealers (including Bill Roper) still have copies.

Thank you!
