Bits and pieces for a Friday morning.

I hope the month has treated everyone well, and even more, I hope the week has treated you wonderfully. We're sliding into fall, the month of my heart, and October is going to be just amazing this year. You'll see.

As always, I am fighting against my links, and losing; because of this, I need to burn a few of them off. Don't worry, they make a lovely light.

First up, Lesley Smith (who still likes me, even though I killed her in "San Diego 2014") interviewed me for Amazing Stories. It's a very honest interview, which means that some parts of it are sad and some are not, and some are just me being faintly confused. Check it out!

I also did a "ask Seanan anything" interview over at Worlds Without End, and had a lot of fun answering their questions. It's silly and strange and includes some stuff about why I don't say things.

We're kind of on a roll with the interviews, so here: here is me talking to the nice folks at Omnivoracious about lots of things, including a picture of the exact moment when I realized that the cover of Parasite mirrors the colors used to signify "this shit here belongs to the Umbrella Corporation" and was overcome with geeky joy.

...and you know, that's only three items, but it seems like a good place to stop, because this is more of an "interview roundup" than a "review roundup," and that's okay.

Happy Friday everyone!

NGL, Parasite looks hot. I plan to abuse my local bookseller for a copy. :-)
Yay!
Happy almost October back to you, it's my favorite month of the year as well. Halloween, cool weather (for Texas) and oh yeah, it's my spawning day...what's not to love.
Nothing, that's what!
Can't wait to read Parasite!
It's gonna be so good.

I already have my tickets for Knott's Scary Farms. I have my cherry apple cider and my caramel to go with it. I have a crisper full of apples in my fridge - including winesaps (early this year).

Yes, this month of Halloween is going to be awesome. It will be full of apples and friends and haunts and purple and orange and green.

And at the end of it is a new book from Mira Grant. I can't express how awesome that is. And yes, the color scheme means I will probably buy it in paperback so I can see the pretty everytime I have to pause in reading. It will be a good way to finish up Halloween.
AWESOME.
Eeeeeeee, my book is on one of your lists! I am so squeeful I had better just be quiet now. Very small eeeeee fading off into the sunset.

Those were all good interviews, and I do like how you deflect questions you don't want to answer the way they think you should.

P.
I don't think I have ever managed to express, properly, just how much Tam Lin meant to me when I was in high school.

Deflecting is fun!
Your muse is awesome.
I like her. :)
These interviews are great, but aw man, where did you get that amazing awesome lacy teal turquoise tunic dress that you are wearing in the pic where you hug the giant Parasite cover? I WANT ONE <3
Torrid! They have them in three colors, and they're on the website.
Reading these interviews reminds me that I used to write, once upon a time, and before I had kids, I wanted to continue writing and sell my stories and turn them into novels and be an author. I don't quite know what happened to that, but for a long time, I didn't even think about it. Recently I have been thinking about it again. You make me think I could actually do it. I mean, because I knew you "before", when you were just one of us regular people, and because I think I'm pretty similar to you, except that I really can't reliably carry a tune, but I'm not thinking about singing anything, just writing, so, you know... if you can do it, then in theory, I could, too.

The main problem now is that I don't know where all my ideas went. I remember having a whole bunch of seeds of ideas, universes that I could explore and expand and turn into any number of stories, once. But right now, I don't seem to have a single world to write about. So there's that. Once I find a world... I think I might just give it a try. :)
Re-read this when I came across the copy in my email folder, and... haha! If I was going to ever write something to actually try to sell, I'd have to write a lot better than I do in rambly LJ comments! :)

You have a day job? I was incredibly impressed with you publishing rate when I thought it was the only thing you did.

I take my hat off to you. I am impressed.
I do! Forty hours a week.
You can kill me (and Uni) multiple times in numerous alternate dimensions and we will still like you, Seanan!
Burning links makes me think of this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=re7jjexQKuY
Hee.
Those were all really fun interviews! And each quite unique.

Regarding zombies: One of my friends with whom we regularly swap book recs has been adamantly refusing to read any more zombie fiction because it has become "too trendy". But I and other friends have been telling him to "READ FEED!" for ages now, and he finally gave in. Last night, he made a point to tell us that he had found it to be the best and most plausible explanation for zombie-ism he had yet encountered. From him this is high praise, so I wanted to pass it along. :-)
Oh, that's brilliant.
Indeed, October is going to be the best! I will be at MileHiCon again after being gone for many years. I am looking forward to meeting you and hope that I won't be too much the idjit speechless fangirl. Is there anything I can bring you from my lovely homestate of Wyoming: birthplace of the Jackalope and home to many beautiful mountains and prairies and empty places? I cannot bring you a jar of genuine Wyoming Wind but anything else I can certainly try to bring to Colorado for you. Travel safe!
Yay!

I can't wait to meet you!
PostScript!

oh my actual gods above. Reading the interviews, which are great by the way, and I have the same reaction to trying to read Tolkien. As if you weren't already my hero! er, heroine. Yay you, anyway, great interviews. Thank you for linking them.
You're very welcome!
Those interviews are awesome. Thank you for the links!
You're welcome. :)
My sweetie sent me this article, and I think you'd find it very interesting, especially considering that it might be a useful resource for future Indexing stories.
