Just wanted to say that I'm sorry about the entitlement monsters (that you mentioned on Twitter). Please don't let it get to you.
Thank you.
Today is reading awesome. New Seanan AND new Stephen King.
Weaponizing fairy tales....eeek.

Good luck, Jeff and Henry! May you avoid that kind of happily ever after (har).

Still wondering if Kyle was in a coma, though.

Nobody's having a good day.
Yay! Jeff and Henry are quite cool together, and I was very interested (and saddened) by the way a "recent" tale or retelling can warp perceptions (despite my personal love for the Disney BatB).

I also really liked the theme of people fighting against the worst parts of their nature, whether those parts are inborn or forced upon them.

Me too.

I am really liking the story. The episode release timing sucketh. Really wishing I had waited for it to finish before I bought it. I have been in a bad mood for six of the episodes. Twice I was in a bad enough mood that I read it tomorrow. Two weeks is just long enough for me to forget why in the hell amazon is spamming me. I'm loving the story but damn.
Sorry. :(
Oof, chain reaction disasters is Bad. Come on, kids. It's time to make a house call to every single patient of Reynard's that you haven't already seen go critical.
Seriously.
Wondering if there are any plans to release these outside the US? (liek in Australia?) I so want to read them!
I saw at least one request on Amazon for a UK release, as well.

Seanan -- How many more episodes will there be? Do you know?

I didn't know this was a "serial" -- didn't know Amazon was doing those, even -- until after I'd bought it and read most of it. (I suppose I must have seen the word in the description, but I wasn't paying attention -- all I really read was the author's name, that it was only available in e-format, and (vaguely) the price. That was enough for me. But I had found it some months into it, and then was busy for a while and had other things to read, so by the time I got around to starting it... I actually got to the end of episode 8 before I saw one of the "your e-book will update automatically" notices, and it already had updated, so I thought the book was probably finished already. Then I got to the end of episode 9 about 20 minutes -- really! -- before episode 10 posted.

So this is the first time I've had to actually WAIT for the next episode -- and I do not like the sensation at all! WAH. This is why I usually look for "new"(-to-me) t.v. shows to watch that are actually a few years old and already finished with being produced.

I'm loving the story, though... although the whole "narrative"-as-a-force thing is a little hard to grasp and to suspend disbelief about, at first. I love how unique it is, though, and the book has really sucked me in.

Story-line question in the next comment.

I'm not Seanan, but I *think* there are 2 episodes left.

And yeah, having to wait is deliciously painful. Cliffhangers. :D

Something from episode 9 is bugging me.

When they had Demi all tied up tight, so she couldn't even tap out a tune... What was to stop her from just using her voice? Just like Henry did? Even when she was gagged, why couldn't she just hum? A gag doesn't stop a hum.
Serious sound-absorbing lining on the room surfaces, for one. Also, Pied Piper. I think she has to play some sort of instrument to be effective; singing is for sirens which are another story?

Not sure; my college folklore class is lost in the mists of the last century.

The FAQ on Amazon says they don't always know in advance how many episodes it will be, since the episodes are written as they go along. I would assume that a writer would at least have the story outlined and the first few chapters written before starting a serial like this, but they don't generally have it finished. I had the impression from the FAQ, too, that the writers choose the interval.
The first three episodes were written before episode one was released; the rest were written while the episodes were dropping.

The interval was set by the publisher.
I always see your posts before I get the emails and I'm like, "OH YEAH!! :D!!"

Still loving this. Loving your take on fairy tales and how they're manifesting. Looking forward to the last few episodes, and a reread when it's all wrapped up!
Body language is VERY important.
I once read that there are three ways to tell a lie.
You can tell a complete lie that has no truth in it at all or you can mix truth and lie together. The third way to tell a lie involves telling the complete truth AS UNCONVINCINGLY AS POSSIBLE! And for that to happen, you had better be good at using body language.
Julius Fast's book Body Language came out in 1970 and was laughed at as being "pseudo-science" at best. No one's laughing now though considering that almost all people in any sort of public service wind up taking at least one course in it these days.
:)
Awesome.
