CHIMES AT MIDNIGHT open thread!

To celebrate the release of Chimes at Midnight, here. Have an open thread to discuss the book. Judging by the comments I'm seeing, some of you have had time, and I'd really, really rather book discussion (sometimes including spoilers) didn't crop up on other posts.

THERE WILL BE SPOILERS.

Seriously. If anyone comments here at all, THERE WILL BE SPOILERS. So please don't read and then yell at me because you encountered spoilers. You were warned. (I will not reply to every comment; I call partial comment amnesty. But I may well join some of the discussion, or answer questions or whatnot.) I will be DELETING all comments containing spoilers which have been left on other posts. No one gets to spoil people here without a label.

You can also start a discussion at my website forums, with less need to be concerned that I will see everything you say! In case you wanted, you know, discussion free of authorial influence, since I always wind up getting involved in these things.

Have fun, and try not to bleed on the carpet.

The book arrived in the mail on Wednesday afternoon. Normally I would have devoured it in a single sitting... but I had eye surgery last week, and I can only read (or use a computer) for a short while before my eye starts to hurt :-(

So I read the first three chapters (one by one) last night, and so far today today I 've read Chapter 4... and skipped randomly ahead for twenty minutes. It didn't reduce the anticipation and suspense to do that - in fact, it made them more intense. I'm probably going to overdo reading again today, of course...

And I still wish I could cosplay the Luidaeg.

Meep.

Keep getting better.
Thank you! It's now been a week since the book arrived, and I only just finished Chapter 11 (really, pie in the face?!?!), but my eye is healing steadily. As I mentioned in a comment I left a few hours ago, the more I heal, the more I read. And either I'm getting better at spotting the "breadcrumbs", or you're making them easier to spot - I rather think it's the former - because there are a lot of loose ends plot teasers underfoot. Which is why I love this series so much.
