One's for sorrow, two's for joy, three's a girl, four's a boy: INDEXING episode #8 is now live!

It's here! It's here! The eighth episode of Indexing is now live!

With one team member lost and another now missing, it seems like time is running out. Either the ATI Management Bureau team will thwart the narrative before sunrise...or it will devour them. And right now, devouring seems pretty damn likely. Episode eight, "Empty Nest," is ready for you to enjoy.

This post serves as both your reminder and discussion thread.

Once upon a time...

I'm so glad you approve.
I have derived great pleasure from your "Indexing" stories. I've found myself quoting them in my head, and the mental pictures are as vivid as the Toby stories to me. Someday, I hope there will be a collected, bound printed edition if the marchen (meta-marchen?) reach critical mass. One of my --very eclectic-- Berkeley English classes was on folklore, folktales, and their origins... I hadn't seen that particular German word written down in years until recognizing it used as a name for "Henrietta Marchen." Brilliant.

Hmm. I need to order Parasitology from Borderlands in time for your signings and Halloween. I'm just waiting and hoping more money comes in soon, along with winning some cases. I haven't bought "Glitter and Mayhem" yet, either, but will after reading Amber Benson's introduction. Can I call it "glitterpunk"? Has that already been coined as a word?.

Amber went to private elementary school with me in Alabama, just two grades lower, by the way... Population of the whole six grades was around a hundred, but I didn't know her, which is a lost opportunity. Mom remembers Amber's mother from PTA, though. My parents could barely afford Highlands Day, since Dad was just starting his law practice, but they decided I would not do well in public school with my ADHD. They were probably right about that. :)

Btw, thank you for posting links to recent interview you've done. You post plenty of links already, and as you've noted, people on your forums are very helpful for finding other things if one speaks up. I also watched a podcast interview you'd done with SF Signal...

My take-home favorite part was, "Yes, it is okay to love the fan things you love, and that does not take away from what other's love. Why on earth should people who like Batman and people who like the X-Men be natural enemies?" For the record, I like both, and actually think the teenage version of Jean Grey is being engagingly well-written, while still being a somewhat unlikeable character. But then, I felt that way about Buffy Summers.

And now that I am thoroughly off the original topic, and becoming increasingly more tangential, it is probably time to get ready for bed.

Best,
Mack
