I told her about Jim Hines' books and how nice a person he is, because he had a signing ten minutes from her house today. And she agrees, he seems very nice. How lovely that he has written all those books.

However. I also played "Wicked Girls" for her. "Counting Crows" and "Wicked Girls." She now demands to know why you are not famous, and wants to know whom she should blame in popular media, since the radio has clearly failed her by never bringing her your music. She thinks your voice and songs are incredibly beautiful, and it can only be that people associate you with books and not music that has kept you from a deserved life of musical fame. Also, you dedicated the first Toby book to your mom, and this means you can only be good.
