I took my love and I took it down...

...I climbed a mountain and I turned around.

This is the current shape of my 2013, with travel dates and everything. Beautiful travel dates. Hope to see you sometime in the months to come. 2014 is now half the list, July 2014 is closer to "now" than January 2013. And other horrifying thoughts. (Most horrifying of all, the first 2015 date has appeared. Gleep.)

There are a few things not on the list because they don't have titles yet, and they're not really stories for me until they acquire titles (even if those titles wind up changing seventeen times during the writing/editing process). There's at least one surprise coming that was never on the list at all, because that is the nature of lists: something always gets left off. Still, for the first time in months, the list actually got shorter, and that's awesome.

Look at that list. It's so shiny!

Just wanted to share an 'eee' moment with you:

When I travel, I hit up the bookstore for something to read on the flight.

I was stuck in the Portland airport last night, and they had two Powell's bookstore outlets in there The one on the outside of security (the 'everyone can go shop while waiting for someone to come off a plane store') had brand new copies of Feed and Deadline prominently on their shelves (at eye height), and the other ('we're trapped on the inside of security while waiting for a delayed flight') had a copy of Midnight Blue Light Special and books 2 3 and 4 of the October Daye series.

Airport bookstores traditionally have very limited shelf space, usually one shelf dedicated to each genre, and I thought you'd like to know that Powells PDX really believes in you. And so do I -- Midnight Blue Light Special came home with me on the flight. :)
