She's a pretty poison apple sinking underneath your skin: INDEXING episode #4 is now live!

It's here! It's here! The fourth episode of Indexing is now live!

Sloane Winters has been with the ATI Management Bureau longer than anybody else on her field team, and she keeps to herself. That means that when her story starts getting pushy, she has nowhere to turn. In "Blended Family" Sloane must face what it means to be a Wicked Stepsister, and figure out how to keep her story from overwhelming her, which would have deadly consequences for everyone she cares about.

This post serves as both your reminder and discussion thread.

Once upon a time...

Perfect timing. Oh you magnificent, cliffhanging, Aaaauugghhhhhhhhh!
Hee hee hee.
WHAT OH MY GOD IT'S THE STORY I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR CAN'T WAIT TO READ IT.
Yay!
AUGH CLIFFHANGER.

Seanan, you are ruthless. And awesome. I don't want to wait two weeks for the next episode! But I will.

(OMG SLOANE!)
This! Although what I actually said was "Mean author! VERY mean author! WHY MUST YOU WRITE SO WELL AND STOP SO SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!"

Augh! I curse the short format which means I juuust get into the story's skin and then wham! (Loved Lovecraft and hope that everyone makes it out of there alive.)
That is the one downside.
I was so shocked, I almost did a spit-take (good thing for my Kindle I nearly choked instead, Pepsi + electronics never ends well). What a cliffhanger! Poor Sloane....that said, her takedown of the Rapunzel situation (and everyone's reactions to that) was brilliant. Also,Lovecraft is the perfect name for a Palm Cockatoo, and I want one now.
They are beautiful, beautiful birds, aren't they?
'Sloane yelled at the story until it went away'
*snerk*

That said - adding to the chorus of AAAAAUGH CLIFFHANGER!!!!!
Sloane is good at being, well, Sloane.
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! The next installment is here! I've absolutely loved all the installments so far and eagerly looked forward to this one. Can't wait to see what (not so) Happy Ever After awaits the team this time.
Yay!
Yay!

*dashes off to turn Kindle on*

Am SO enjoying this!

I'm so glad.

(That is a lie. I wanted something in the middle of this. I got a little of it, though, in the bits where she was struggling to keep herself from flipping out and killing random people before she became fully active. Aaaargh.)
Sloane: not having an easy time of things.
Evil, evil woman. (That's not a spoiler since I'm talking about the author)

;)
True!
Wow this chapter was great, poor sloane T.T, but I will have also cry if I have ovet night shipping. Can't wait for 2 weeks.
And the steel magnolia referencen was beautiful i love that movie ^.^

SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANE.
Yuppers.
Oh dear... poor Sloane needs some Excedrin and a hugme coat, stat! Wonderful job with the bird, by the way; you got the cockatoo mannerisms down pat.
I love cockatoos.
I can't wait to read it tonight. When I have cats to hug and blankets to crawl under. Because I know your writing.

Utterly randomly- I started listening to Night Vale Radio because of your recommendation, so I thought I'd pass back to you the recommendation I got from a coworker- if you like Night Vale, you might like Scarfolk.
Oooo, thanks for the rec!
P.S. Livejournal thinks I might be spam. While I am, in fact, made of meat, it's in a somewhat more organized fashion than that. I could even provide references who are fairly sure I actually exist and am capable of making good desserts. Since you personally don't know me from Adam, I'd like to apologize if my comment came across as spammy- it was truly meant as an honest rec.
LJ is weird like that. I have unspammed you, and always will do so manually. :)
Reading the new chapter made yesterday easier.

Thank you.
You are welcome.
Oh, NOW IT'S GETTING GOOD!!!!! Though I am a little confused at the double Sloane narrations. Which I guess are not what I thought they were?

I am also amused that after wondering what you'd do with a Rapunzel story two weeks ago, here it is. Hah. Yelling at a story until it goes away, excellent.
I don't know what part confused you, but I can try to help if you explain?

How have I somehow managed to miss the existence of this until now???

Oooooh... this means I get to start w/ four episodes all at once! Yay me! Perhaps I shall have one a day for the next four days of my long weekend. Or, you know, read 'em all at once, which is much more likely. :-D

*scurries off to download...*
I don't know! But yay for you!
CLIFFHANGER

SEANAN

WHYYYYYY

*dramatic flailing about*

Flailing aside, I'm looking forward to the next episode more than ever!
Yay!
I'd love to buy a copy of this, but Amazon UK doesn't seem to have it and Amazon US says it is not for sale.

1) You are missing out on sales for no good purpose!

2) Can you suggest where I can buy a copy?
Here are all your answers:

In the "you are missing out on sales" area, please don't assume authors have ANY CONTROL AT ALL over what regions our work is sold in. We don't, and being reminded that maybe we won't eat this month because of things we didn't choose to do just makes us sad.
I really love the Sloane perspective, and the structural device was very exciting. Looking forward to the next one a lot!
I'm so glad!
